Astro Burn is our love letter to the early ’90s cute-em-up classics like Parodius and Pop’n TwinBee. Those games were bold, wildly creative, and completely, delightfully bonkers!

What is a cute-em-up?

A cute-em-up is a bullet hell where adorable meets absolute chaos.

Bright visuals, charming characters, and absurd enemies wrap around fast, precise gameplay where survival, positioning, and mastery still matter. It may look playful, but it has got teeth.

Astro is on her way home. Starting in Earth’s orbit, the journey quickly turns into a fight for survival.

What should be a simple descent becomes a relentless bullet hell gauntlet, filled with enemies that shouldn’t exist and environments that feel twisted, unstable, and hostile. From orbit down through Earth’s layers, each biome brings new dangers, new patterns, and new chaos to survive.

Between the action, pieces of the story begin to surface.

What’s happening to the world? Why does everything feel… wrong.

And the deeper Astro goes, the clearer it becomes that this isn’t just about reaching her self-cleaning litter box on Earth.

Something is happening to her, too.

With her robotic companion at her side, Astro pushes forward, one chaotic encounter at a time, searching for answers equipped only with his determination and catnip. So much catnip.

Armed with outrageous weapon combos, a rocket-fuelled jetpack, and purrfectly tuned reflexes, you’ll dive headfirst into relentless bullet hell chaos.

Dodge, weave, and survive as the screen fills with projectiles, environmental hazards, and enemies that do not care about your plans. Thread your way through laser grids, collapsing structures, fire traps, and floating islands, while blasting everything in your path.

Destroy enemies, collect temporary power-ups, and stack your firepower into something truly absurd. The longer you survive, the stronger you become — miss those upgrades, and the game will catch up with you fast.

Every level is a high-speed gauntlet. Stay alive, reach the boss, and bring it down.

And yes… the universe is completely unhinged. I mean, just look at that duck and hear it quack!

Expect screen-filling mecha pandas, hyperactive huskies tearing open solar vortexes, opera-singing space squids, and celestial goldfish launching star-shaped projectiles. Everything delivered with the chaotic, anything-goes spirit of 90s arcade classics.

Refine your routes, push your score higher, and shave seconds off your time. Every mistake costs you. Every improvement counts.

Lock in your best runs on the classic local leaderboard with 3 letter initials, then take the fight online through Discord, where the real competition begins.

In the options menu,  select "connect to discord",  and now whenever you play the game and hit that highscore with an impressive speed run, all your discord friends will see it - now that's a flex!
