Varför Early Access?

“I'm bringing Field Notes to Early Access because I believe the best discoveries happen together. The game is built around exploration and curiosity, and I want to grow it with the help of a community that shares those values. Early Access gives me the opportunity to refine core systems like wildlife behavior, photo collection, and planetary exploration based on real player feedback. Your input will help shape new features, biomes, and species as I expand the universe of Field Notes into something truly special.”

Ungefär hur länge kommer det här spelet att vara i Early Access?

“Field Notes will be in Early Access for at least a year, but possibly longer. As a solo developer, I want to take the time needed to carefully build out the world, polish the experience, and respond to player feedback without rushing. My goal is to create something truly memorable, and that means growing the game at a pace that ensures quality, creativity, and care in every update.”

“For the full release of Field Notes, the goal is to expand the scope of exploration, introducing a diverse range of environments, mysteries and unique lifeforms to discover and document.
Players will uncover:

-New biomes
-Additional Planets
-New Plant and animal life
-Additional Tools, Gear and research stations

As well as new missions as they progress through the narrative of a novice explorer growing into a seasoned field expert. The aim of the final version is to refine mechanics, improve world-building, and a include a more complete story arc that brings the explorer’s journey of curiosity, discovery, and mastery to life.”

Hur är det nuvarande läget i versionen med Early Access?

“While playable with most of the base features, Field Notes is not a complete experience, with limited exploration options.

Currently, Field Notes contains one explorable biome, with a handful of plants and animal life to discover and document as well as the first few missions of the story to get the players started on their adventure.

Players have access to a few unlockable tools to start documenting wildlife, as well as the ability to explore the starting Expedition Station and the planet below.

You will also meet several characters which lead you into the story.”

Kommer spelet att prissättas annorlunda under och efter Early Access?

“I currently have no plans to change pricing after the Early Access period has ended.”

Hur planerar ni att involvera gemenskapen i er utvecklingsprocess?

“The community is invaluable in giving feedback as to the accessibility of gameplay, finding bugs, as well as giving valuable Quality of Life feature feedback. The goal is to take in all feedback to better the experience for all players.

I will be monitoring and interacting with players in the Steam Community forums for Field Notes, as well a an official Discord channel to come at the launch of Early Access.

Players are encouraged to share their experience with the game and make suggestions as to how we can improve the game in the future.”
