About This Demo

Go Kart Island is a kart racer where you explore an open world island and take part in a variety of races and other events, set on the fictional (if you can believe that) island called... Go Kart Island.

WHAT'S IN THE DEMO?

The demo features roughly the first quarter of the career mode, and roughly a quarter of the island to explore! In addition there are 20x race challenges, 2x time trial challenges and 1x collect challenge.

RACE ACROSS THE ISLAND!

What good is a karting game without races? Classic karting rules apply, use items to take out your opponents and reach the finish in 1st place. But watch out, some races require you to perform side objectives so not everything is a straight dash to the finish! There are six different race types to master:

• Circuit Race: A classic race around multiple laps of a circuit with little other shenanigans in sight. Except from the obstacles and items you can use to overtake and fend off your rivals, of course.
  
• Checkpoint Race: Beat your rivals to first place and also beat the clock by reaching checkpoints before the timer runs out!
  
• Collect Race: Winning the race isn’t enough, you must also collect all of the coins that are scattered around the circuit.
  
• Elimination Race: Don’t be last when you finish a lap or you’re eliminated! Only one expert racer will survive to the end.
  
• Death Race: Avoid being hit by items and obstacles - if you run out of health you’re out of the race!
  
• Street Race: An unsanctioned event where you race from one point on the island to another. Look out for traffic as you let your rivals eat your dust.
  
  

  CAREER

  
  The island is caught up in BIG RACE fever, where the participants compete to become GO KART CHAMPION. Lachlan the highland cow arrives on the island full of hope to win the BIG RACE just like his dad did years ago. Thanks to the corrupt island mayor he needs 1,000 coins to take part, but the reward money from winning races all over the island should take care of that!
  
  Completing events will unlock new characters and karts to play as in Challenges!

  CHALLENGES

  Aim for the gold trophy in over 80 challenges, including 68 races and 16 special events! These add a new twist and replayability to events from the main career mode.

  
  
  

  SPECIAL EVENTS

  Other than traditional races, there are some other events to take part in:
  
  • Test your speedy driving skills in time trials. The islanders are an impatient bunch and need your help to get to their destination as fast as possible. INEXPLICABLE obstacles tend to appear out of nowhere.
    
  • Things are lost, and you have to track them down and run them over with your kart as fast as possible. Well, how else are you supposed to collect things? Slowly and with care? That would be stupid.
    
  • How about a classic high speed chase? Either hunt down a target or escape from your pursuers.

  EXPLORE

  Every moment on Go Kart Island isn't taken up by taking part in some kind of wild event. There's a whole island to explore! From the mountain top, to the airport, to the lagoon there is much to see and do. Find coins, gems and smash the mayor's advertising boards as you take in the diverse scenery.
