Why Early Access?

“Elemental: Reforged is a new game that combines and remasters content from three different games in the Elemental franchise: War of Magic, Fallen Enchantress, and Sorcerer King. Many different elements of these games were very popular with our players back when these games were released, but we would like to work closely with our players and the community to determine which of these features and game elements they would like us to include and expand upon, and which of the features are no longer interesting to modern audiences. We believe that Early Access is the best way to achieve these goals.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently have roughly three months of content updates planned. We may extend this period and add more features and content based on the response we get from the players and the community; for example, players may ask that upgrade certain graphics even more, or conversely be happy with the graphics but ask for more depth in itemization. ”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Our initial launch into EA will already be a solid playable game that combines elements of three previous games, much of which is no longer functional on modern PCs. Once this is being played by live players, we will begin executing on our roadmap, which will be public. We intend to add additional features like a combined Campaign, a unified Essence magic system, a Map Editor, and robust Mod support including Steam Workshop integration over the course of Early Access. The full scope will depend on how much more work the community values on each of these features, plus any others that are requested along the way.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The core of the above game is already complete, including the most important central technology lift of converting the old games into a 64-bit DirectX 11 core game while still keeping the base functionality of all three old games. Before EA launch we intend to continue upgrading the graphics, especially character models and the UI, and verifying QA elements like hardware compatibility. We expect it to be a good experience at launch, and then add additional content and features over time.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We don't plan to change the price unless community feedback significantly extends the Early Access period and we add major new features. If this happens, we would consider increasing the base price to over time as features are implemented, but early supporters should feel that their involvement was worth it.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We will be communicating with the community on a daily basis through our network of Steam forums, Discord, our own Stardock forums, and various social media. We will discuss upcoming features, take polls, and share very openly our progress.”

About This Game

Build a civilization to survive in an RPG style world in Elemental: Reforged. Start the game by creating a unique character, setting up your opponents and entering a randomly generated world with the objective of finding and controlling the shards of magic. With each shard you capture, your power will grow unlocking more powerful spells and abilities. But be mindful for the other civilizations share your ambition.

Reforged

Long ago, Stardock sought to create the ultimate fantasy civilization game. It was called Elemental. In this game, every unit was singular with its own unique items and equipment. Players could design their own cities, leveraging the resources and magic of the world. The world itself was transformable through magic with players able to mold it to their liking. The technical challenges in getting all this to fit into a 32-bit engine led the game to being re-designed and ultimately released in 3 different games that focused on key elements of the design: War of Magic, Fallen Enchantress, and Sorcerer King.

Now, thanks to a remastered 64-bit engine, Stardock has finally been able to take the best parts of the three games and bring them together; as well as add features that were cut before War of Magic was released including building cities to leverage the magic of the world.

Never the Same Game Twice

Elemental is a game where the story revolves around the character you make and the decisions you make. Diplomacy is deep. Characters are unique. And the computer players have been designed to be challenging and non-cheating.

The world is your sandbox. The spells discovered and technologies available make every game progress differently, and how different civilizations react to you depends on your actions and your allegiances.

A Strategy Game in an RPG World

This is a strategy game in which every unit has its own backstory, unique talents and special skills. You can use the units native to a given civilization or design your own giving them special items, charms and enchantments. Choosing between technology and magical progress ensures civilizations are distinct and unique based on game mechanics and not just lore.

Deep Story-Driven Campaigns

For players who want to explore the rich and deep lore of Elemental, the game includes 3 new campaigns:

The War of Magic
The Fallen Enchantress
The Sorcerer King

Each one explores an aspect of the history of this world and its ultimate destiny, as well as gives the player the opportunity to interact with interesting characters.
