Varslo Tactics is a retro inspired turn based tactical game with RPG-lite elements. Follow Aethay as she leaves her life of mercenary work to become a commander. What starts as a simple rescue mission drags her into a wider conflict between kingdoms, and the fate of magic itself. Recruit soldiers and level them up to unlock traits and abilities as you fight your way around the continent of Varslo while getting entangled in a growing conflict.

Growing tired of the mercenary life, Aethay decides to pursue her dream of becoming a commander at the Pellonian Military Academy. One day she decides to get some rest in a village, where a young Seeker from the capital asks for her help to rescue a high value person of interest. Unfortunately, things aren't always what they seem, and this seemingly straightforward tasks takes a sudden turn!

The fragile peace between Pellonia and Atasia gets shattered as Aethay completes the rescue mission. War is coming for a reason that extends beyond these two kingdoms, and she is lost on what side to choose. She is accompanied by people from different kingdoms, and they try to convince her to join their side. Will she join them, or forge her own path?

Recruit troops and level them up to unlock traits and abilities that are class dependent! Customize your soldiers to serve specific purposes as you fill the slots from a larger list. You can't choose everything, and some abilities and traits have trade offs for negative effects. You choose what classes to recruit, you choose the traits and abilities. Create your own army to tackle the challenges of each chapter!

As you progress, different situations will unfold. Whether it be defending or attacking, dealing with fog, suprise enemy reinforcements, it's all up to you to choose how the battle unfolds. The different classes of units and enemy troop compositions will prevent unique challenges. Melee units, ranged units, healers, and soldiers riding atop beasts of war all provide a different challenge to both command and fight against. Also, be on the lookout for extra objectives on the map. That little village or cave in the distance might be a hastle to get to, but perhaps there is a reward in doing so!
