About This Game

In this heavily stylized horror adventure game, players embark on a journey to the mysterious Greatmaw Island in search of their missing friend, Phillip. In classic point and click fashion, you'll explore the horrors of Doctor Morose's wretched human experiments as you attempt to rescue Phillip before it's too late, all while uncovering the unimaginable truth behind the Doctor's mad schemes.

Explore Hand Drawn Environments

Explore a fully hand crafted world animated frame by frame, just like an 80s cartoon. The Doctor's island is full of grim visual surprises and monstrous entities, all brought to life in a chillingly abstract art style inspired by artists like Theodor Geisel. While the majority of the game is top down, certain segments and areas will play with shifting perspectives, and you'll occasionally find NPCs to help (?) you on your quest to save Phillip's life.

A World of Horror and Rhymes

Nearly everything in The Island of Doctor Morose is draped in authentic dialogue which pays tribute to children's books of old with chilling rhymes and oddball eccentricities. Immerse yourself in a world where everything has a unique name, every task is accomplished with impossible machinery, and every word is chosen carefully to ensure an immersive and mind melting horror experience, down to the last word.

An Intense Mixture of Point and Click and Survival Horror

You'll need to mix environmental examination and point and click puzzle solving with active WASD movement and mouse-based combat with your slingshot. Larger spaces allow for faster movement speed and place emphasis on survival gameplay, while smaller and more dense areas provide a return to classic point and click gameplay, making for a haunting hybrid of retro and modern styles.

Pick Your Battles To Stay Alive

Stay undetected or fight in brutal struggles against horrors beyond comprehension as you run between areas to find clues to solve the myriad of puzzles found throughout the island. Use your slingshot to carefully aim, or find less conventional ways of taking care of your foes through the careful use of poisonous plant life.

Keep Your Sanity In Check

The darkness of the island is a danger in and of itself. Using nothing but a handheld lantern and some old fuses, light the way through dark labyrinths in order to keep from losing yourself to the madness.

Multiple Endings

While the first playthrough will take most anywhere from 5-8 hours, The Island of Doctor Morose offers four unique endings based on completion percentage and playtime. Through repeated playthroughs, you'll uncover even deeper evils that go beyond Doctor Morose's human experiments, adding to the game's replayability.

Be Haunted By The Sounds Of A Dying World

With a haunting original score inspired by classic cartoons from the 70s and 80s, you'll experience a world brought to life by eerie, corrupted nostalgia. The authentic score adds greatly to the game's unique and chilling atmosphere, and was composed by the incredibly talented Miles Clark. Additionally, limited voice acting brings the game's characters to life in moments of particular importance.
