Virestoma is an RPG built on emotions and social interaction. To grow stronger, you must interact with NPCs. The type and amount of power gained changes based on how you interact with them. What matters isn’t the role you play in a party, but the role you choose to hold in society.

About This Game

About the Game

Virestoma is a single‑player adventure set in a medieval world filled with unique and distinctive elements. The experience focuses on exploration and mystery, with a good level of challenge. Every NPC has a name, personality, preferences, and daily routine. There are no fetch quests; instead, alongside your own journey, the protagonist can choose to pursue the story of any secondary character. None of these stories has a predetermined ending.

Lore

The game takes place in the outskirts of a small, remote village known as Virestoma. Caelcalite is the name of a mysterious mineral of immense value within the game world. The plot revolves around the village and this mineral—will you uncover the secret behind them?

You won’t face the adventure alone. The villagers will stand by your side—some if you allow them to, others if you manage to convince them. Every inhabitant is deeply characterized; after all, only moonsicks would choose to live in a remote village in one of the most isolated regions of the empire, right?

Gameplay

The game features a top‑down perspective, blending 2.5D and pixel art with an eight‑direction movement system. Players can dodge enemy attacks, completely negating damage if the timing is precise. To defeat enemies, you can use light attacks, heavy attacks, or powerful abilities that must first be unlocked by exploring the world or interacting with NPCs. To activate an ability, the player must perform a specific combination of light and heavy attacks.

Classes

The protagonist starts the adventure with access to all available classes, and after completing the tutorial, can freely choose or switch the active one at any time through a simple, unlimited, and cost‑free procedure. Classes are upgraded gaining experience points, which are not earned by defeating enemies but by interacting with NPCs. Your dialogue choices, as well as hostile or benevolent actions toward certain characters, all grant experience points. The amount earned—and which class receives them—depends on the nature of the action. Each class unlocks different combos (sequences of light and heavy attacks). The ability triggered at the end of a combo is fully customizable by the player, again through a free and repeatable procedure.
