Why Early Access?

“Early Access allows me to interactively iterate on the game and get it into players' hands at a point early enough in development where their suggestions and feedback can easily be considered and acted upon. ”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I expect Early Access development to last around 6 months.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“I'm planning on building out important features during Early Access, namely player customization, additional national teams, and a new multi-season National Team mode. For existing parts of the game my focus will be on providing depth and detail to areas needing it most. As the game evolves I will be looking to iterate and improve the AI's capabilities and competitiveness to keep the game balanced and fun.

I also expect there to be a fair amount of iteration on the game's UI as features get built out and players share feedback on their experiences interacting with it. Some of those changes will be UX/QoL improvements as well as presentation upgrades as systems get finalized during development.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Core gameplay, the International Tournament mode, visuals, and sound are nearing feature complete right now. The game is stable and fully playable but may not be fully optimized for low end hardware yet.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I plan to increase the price of the game as it exits Early Access”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“My previous game Sunday Rivals was an Early Access release and heavily involved the community throughout development via real time discussion, feedback through Discord/social media, and a series of Q&A videos sourced directly from the community. There was continuous improvement and even an entire feature added to the game as a result of in-depth player driven feedback and suggestions. I plan to continue and expand upon this process as we work together to build Killer Aces Volleyball into a game the entire volleyball community can rally behind.”
