About This Game

Colt and his sister have just moved to a new city for university, ready to begin a new chapter. But their plans are suddenly disrupted by an unexpected lockdown that forces the school to evacuate its students.

Back at their apartment, Colt receives a phone call from a hospital in his distant hometown: his uncle, the man who raised him, is gravely ill. With no other family to contact, the hospital urges Colt to come immediately.

With the city shutting down, Colt struggles with the decision. After a tense conversation, his sister decides to stay behind, but Colt can't ignore the urgency of the call. Determined, he sets out on a long overnight drive back to the place he once called home.

But just as he reaches the town’s entrance, exhaustion hits. A sudden collision with another vehicle derails his arrival, marking the beginning of his journey into the unknown.

Figureless blends elements of:

  • Action-Adventure

  • Survival Horror

  • Metroidvania

While being an original title, it draws inspiration from games like Zelda, Metroid and Resident Evil.

                                                       What are the Figureless?

The game centers around the enemy known as Figureless, strange humanoid creatures that were once humans.

There are many different type of Figureless, each type with its own name and behavior, such as Seeker, Stinger, Melter, and more. We are planning to include at least 30 unique types of Figureless excluding bosses.

Figureless will feature multiple stages, each with a different map that can take multiple hours to complete. We're currently planning to release 5-7 stages, the first one taking place in Colt's hometown.

Within each stage, you'll find lairs - like schools, hospitals, and more. Similar to dungeons in Zelda, they are packed with distinct enemies and puzzles.

The progression is similar to a Metroidvania. After completing each lair, you will unlock new tools that will allow you to access areas and loot that were otherwise inaccessible.

The game also features a day and night cycle where you have a limited amount of time to explore and do objectives. There is a main story to follow as well as multiple side quests to understand the world of Figureless and help you grow stronger during your journey.

During the day, you'll be exploring, looting buildings such as houses, gas stations, offices and many more whilst fighting the Figureless, which will help you gather new equipment and get experience in order to level up.

At night, you must stay indoors, since going outside could prove to be very dangerous. Once inside your base you will be able to store your findings, access the workbench to craft and upgrade items and gear, and cook food at the campfire to gain buffs for the next day.

Progression:
Figureless is a story-driven game. In order to progress through the story, you must follow the main questline. Some quests are time-sensitive - if you fail to complete them in time, it will result in a game over. Each stage lasts around 20-30 in-game days, and all your progress, including gear and stats, will carry over to the next stage.

Stats and Equipment:
Leveling up by defeating enemies or doing quests, slightly increases all of your stats and grants you a stat point to allocate, allowing different types of playstyles. Some characters scale their damage with HP, others with defense, so building the right stats for your character is key.

There are different types of equipment to craft and find. Each piece of equipment serves a unique purpose - from melee and ranged weapons to armor pieces (head, body, legs), accessories, bags and more. Choosing the right gear for your build will be essential to survive.

Party members:
You will unlock new party members as you progress through the story. Each character comes with their own unique melee and ranged weapons, and their playstyle differ significantly from one another.

You'll explore and fight as a party of up to three survivors. While you directly control one, the others will assist you in combat, attacking enemies and supporting you in real time. You can switch between party members at any time, allowing you to adapt to different situations and use each character's strengths strategically.

Lairs:
Each stage features 3-5 lairs , they are large, explorable areas filled with different enemies and puzzles. At the end of each lair, there is a powerful boss to defeat. Unlike regular exploration, time is paused while you're inside a lair, giving you as much time as needed to complete it without the pressure of the day-night cycle.

                                                          Explore. Fight. Survive.

Uncover the truth behind the Figureless, before time runs out.
