« Arkin is entering early access to get valuable feedback on the game from as many players as possible to provide the best gameplay experience. »

Pendant combien de temps environ ce jeu sera-t-il en accès anticipé ?

« Estimates are not our strong suit but we will try and provide rough estimates based on the work we've done so far and what remains to be done.

Based on the time spent so far we would expect to be in a release ready state by the end of the summer of 2019. »

En quoi la version finale sera-t-elle différente de la version en accès anticipé ?

« The full version of Arkin will have several new missions that will complete the main campaign story arc. The ship customization system will also be improved, including more customization options and a more refined customization interface. Full controller support will be implemented including flight sticks and HOTAS setups. »

« Arkin is currently in an Alpha state.

Gameplay, mechanics, and visuals are mostly complete with only minor tweaks remaining.

Three full missions of the planned nine are nearly complete including a tutorial and two campaign missions.

Ship customization has been implemented. The underlaying systems are finished but refinement to the customization UI and creation of more equipment to fit remains. »

« Pricing will change as we progress through the Early Access process and the game becomes more polished. »

Comment comptez-vous impliquer la communauté dans le processus de développement ?

« We plan on involving the community by getting as much constructive feedback as possible to improve the game. We are looking for feedback on all elements of the game but primarily gameplay mechanics, controls, and ship customization. We are also very interested in feedback from those who use a controller or joystick setup as it is difficult for us to test across many different devices.

We will be primarily using the Steam Community as our means of communication between players and us as it is the easiest and most accessible form of communication being built directly into the Steam platform. »

Arkin is set in a future where humanity has been at war for decades, only to find that their true enemy, a threat to their very existence, has just appeared. Combat

Combat is at the heart of the Arkin experience. It’s fast, dynamic, and most importantly revolves around your playstyle.

The most powerful ability you have is the Orion’s dynamic energy routing system. This allows you to change strategies on the fly by instantly sending your ship’s power reserves to whatever system you need most. You can use speed to outmaneuver your enemies, power up your shields to survive the most dangerous assaults, or overload your weapons to rain destruction on your foes.

Story

The year is 2563, and humanity is locked in a civil war. Desperately looking to break the stalemate the TDF has developed an advanced prototype ship with unique capabilities: the Orion. You, the Orion's pilot, are part of the first TDF battlegroup to encounter a new and hostile alien race; the Arkin. With both human factions weakened by decades of war a desperate struggle begins against the Arkin, who appear unstoppable and merciless in their destruction of every human ship and colony they encounter.

Customization

The Orion was designed around a new philosophy in starfighter engineering; the idea that he who most easily adapts is victorious, and adaptability is achieved through modularity. Nearly every system on the Orion can be easily swapped out for a different or upgraded version with almost zero downtime. With development of the Orion still in full swing those upgrades are becoming available at a steady pace.
