About This Game

A society of merpeople begins to undergo evolution and discovers casual relationships. 

After a painful breakup, the solitary protagonist undergoes a journey of self-discovery/denial as they experiment with intimacy, experience physical bodily changes, and try to decide whether or not they want to move to the surface.

coalescent || tidal rapture is a 3D swimming adventure game and dating sim. It features:

• Three main gameplay modes – swimming, singing, and entangling.

• A melancholic and wet coming-of-age story about a loner swimming against the flow to embrace/shun the primal, told in three chapters.

• Three sexy, mysterious and colorful partners who acquaint the protagonist with a different sort of intimacy.

• A central mystery: everyone is starting to move to the surface. Why?

• A retro push-and-pull swimming mechanic inspired by the likes of Super Mario 64 and Ecco the Dolphin. It’s tricky at first, then fluid and kinetic with practice.
