Why Early Access?

“Although Lone City is an independent game, we are committed to polishing it to the highest standard we can achieve. Because of the scale of the game, we want to use Early Access to let players become part of its development sooner, while allowing us to continuously improve the game based on real player feedback.

That is why we chose to launch Lone City as a free-to-play Early Access game. Everyone can experience the game for free and follow its journey as it grows and evolves toward its full vision.

The base game will always remain free and will not rely on gacha mechanics or mandatory in-game purchases. We may release optional DLCs such as weapon and character skin packs for players who would like to support our continued development. You can play the game normally and experience it through to the end without purchasing any DLC.

We plan to continue developing and updating Lone City for at least two years, with future development shaped in part by player feedback. If we receive enough support, we will also be able to bring more developers onto the project and accelerate future updates.

We hope this will be more than just the development of a game—it will be a creative journey that we can share with our players. Thank you to everyone who chooses to play, share feedback, or help spread the word about Lone City.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently expect development of Lone City to continue for several years, but we do not want to set an overly rigid release date.

Our priority is to make the game better rather than rushing out of Early Access to meet a specific deadline. The transition to the full version will depend on player feedback, the completion of planned content, and our overall development progress.

If you enjoy Lone City, your support and feedback will be an important part of keeping development moving forward. We also welcome you to share the game with friends who may be interested, and help more players become part of its journey.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version will gradually expand toward the complete vision we currently have for Lone City, including:

20+ maps
10+ firearms
20+ types of enemies
Base building
Tower defense
FPS / TPS combat
Racing
A complete story and character experience

These features will not all be added at once. They will be developed and expanded gradually throughout Early Access.

The exact content of the final version may also evolve based on development progress and player feedback. Our goal is to preserve the core experience while making Lone City increasingly deeper and more complete over time.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current Early Access version already includes several of the game's core features, including:

Base building
Tower defense
FPS / TPS combat
Several explorable maps
Core exploration, combat, and resource-gathering systems

During Early Access, we will continue adding new maps, enemies, weapons, gameplay features, and story content.

The current version represents an ongoing stage of development, rather than a one-time playable demo.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The base game of Lone City will always be free, both during Early Access and after the full release.

We will gradually introduce optional DLCs, such as weapon packs, character skins, and other additional content. These DLCs will not affect the normal experience of the free base game. You do not need to purchase any DLC to play the game or experience it through to the end.

If you enjoy Lone City and would like to support our continued development by purchasing DLC, we will be extremely grateful.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We will share development plans, updates, and progress through the Steam Community, Bilibili, YouTube, Discord, and other channels.

We will also actively collect player feedback on gameplay, balance, content, and overall experience, and take that feedback into consideration during future development.

We will do our best to share development videos and progress updates regularly, so players can see what is happening behind the scenes and follow the growth of Lone City.
