What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Coin & Cauldron has reached a point where its core gameplay systems and progression are playable, but there is still plenty of room for the game to grow and improve. Early Access gives us the opportunity to develop that next stage alongside the community.

Player feedback has already played an important role in shaping Coin & Cauldron, from quality-of-life improvements and balancing to multiplayer changes and new features. Early Access allows us to continue that process with a much larger group of players while expanding the world, refining existing systems, and building toward the full release.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I currently expect Coin & Cauldron to remain in Early Access for approximately 5–6 months.

Our goal is to use this period to release additional content, improve existing systems, address player feedback, and further polish the overall experience. The exact length of Early Access may change depending on development progress and community feedback.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version contains the core Coin & Cauldron experience, but we plan to expand many parts of the game on the road to version 1.0.

Planned additions and improvements include expanded activities such as fishing, farming, and mining; additional festivals and world events; further shop customization and expansion; new progression opportunities; additional quests and content; and continued improvements to combat, multiplayer, balancing, performance, and quality of life.

We also plan to continue expanding the world and its story as Coin & Cauldron approaches its full release. These plans may evolve based on player feedback throughout Early Access.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Coin & Cauldron is currently a playable open-world alchemist RPG that can be experienced solo or cooperatively with up to four players.

Players can run their potion shop, gather ingredients, brew and sell a variety of potions, explore multiple regions, complete quests for the inhabitants of Elyzium, learn spells, fight monsters and bosses, discover secrets, upgrade their equipment, customize their shop, and progress through the game together.

The Early Access version contains the main gameplay loop, exploration, combat, potion crafting, shop management, character progression, quests, bosses, and multiplayer systems. Development will continue to focus on expanding this content while improving balance, stability, performance, and polish.

As an Early Access title, players may encounter bugs, balance changes, or systems that are adjusted as development continues.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“No. We currently plan for Coin & Cauldron to be priced at $14.99 USD.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback is one of the main reasons I am releasing Coin & Cauldron in Early Access.

Players will be able to share feedback, report bugs, suggest improvements, and discuss new features through the Steam Community Hub and the official Coin & Cauldron / Monarch Games Discord community.

We plan to actively review player feedback throughout Early Access and use it to help guide balancing, quality-of-life improvements, multiplayer changes, progression, and future content.

We will also continue sharing development updates, patch notes, previews, and upcoming changes so players can follow the development of Coin & Cauldron as it grows toward version 1.0.”
