'Blackrock began as a learning project and has since grown into a much larger experience. Early Access allows for continuous improvement while gathering feedback to guide the game towards a polished, stable, and enjoyable state.

Rather than rushing toward a final release, the focus is on refining the foundation and making sure the core gameplay is solid and satisfying.'

'We plan to keep the game in Early Access for approximately three years.

This extended timeframe allows us to develop the game at a sustainable pace, react properly to player feedback, and continuously expand and refine core systems, content, and balance. Development will remain active throughout the entire Early Access period, with regular updates and improvements.

Our goal is to release the full version once the game has reached a level of depth, stability, and polish that truly reflects our vision.

This isn’t about rushing toward a finish line — it’s about building a game that feels complete, cohesive, and worth investing time in, both now and in the long run.'

In Blackrock, you are the last line of defense - a Commander of the Blackrock Containment Force (BCF). Your mission: stop the spread of a sentient meteorite known only as the Blackrock, before it corrupts the planet entirely.

Dropped into hostile terrain with only a portal, a shard generator, and your launchpad, you’ll need to summon and command units called Bravelings — autonomous fighters born to resist the Glimmergrubs, the grotesque minions spawned by the Blackrock.

Command the BCF – Step into the boots of a tactical Commander with real-time combat control.

Fend off Glimmergrubs – Face swarms of corrupted enemies that evolve and swarm relentlessly.

Summon Bravelings – Use collected shards to deploy autonomous soldiers that fight by your side.

Upgrade Everything – Enhance your troops, defenses, generator, and your own combat skills.

Tactical Base Defense – Protect the generator, and outlast the corruption.

Fast-Paced Pixel Combat – Shoot with precision in animated pixel style.

Story Development Status:

The core narrative and world of Blackrock are actively in development.
While the foundation of the story, factions, and setting is already established, the full narrative experience is being expanded step by step.

New story segments, characters, and contextual events will be added over time, further revealing the origins of the Blackrock, the role of the BCF, and the greater threat behind the corruption.

Story development is tightly integrated with gameplay updates, ensuring that new narrative content grows naturally alongside mechanics, environments, and progression systems.

Blackrock originally began as a small learning project to explore coding, game design, and the possibilities of GameMaker. Over time, it steadily grew into a larger experience - one that continues to evolve.

This is a long-term passion project, developed and expanded step by step.
