“Blackrock began as a learning project and has since grown into a much larger experience. Early Access allows for continuous improvement while gathering feedback to guide the game towards a polished, stable, and enjoyable state.

Rather than rushing toward a final release, the focus is on refining the foundation and making sure the core gameplay is solid and satisfying.”

“We plan to keep the game in Early Access for approximately 1 year. This timeline might shift slightly depending on player feedback and the overall development process, but our goal is to release the full version around mid to late 2026.

Development will continue steadily and thoughtfully until the game reaches a state of completeness and quality that meets our standards.

This isn’t about rushing to release — it’s about crafting something truly worth playing: polished, fun, and built to last.”

“The goal is to expand Blackrock with:

  • More worlds and environments
  • Additional weapons and combat options
  • New enemy types and troop units
  • Full controller support

Before adding major content updates, our current focus is on improving and refining the existing gameplay and systems. The aim is to deliver the smoothest and most stable experience possible, though this process will naturally evolve based on feedback and ongoing development.”

“The game is fully playable and performs well based on internal testing.
The core mechanics are implemented, and feedback is now essential to guide further improvements.
At this stage, ongoing optimization and polish is a key focus, alongside content expansion.”

“No, the price will stay the same before and after the full release. We don’t want to give anyone an advantage or disadvantage based on when they join. Supporting the game during Early Access is completely voluntary, and I’m truly grateful to everyone who decides to be part of the journey. ”

“For now, players are welcome to share feedback or bug reports through the Steam Community Hub.

A dedicated Discord server is planned and will be launched soon to enable more direct communication and community interaction.

In Blackrock, you are the last line of defense — a Commander of the Blackrock Containment Force (BCF). Your mission: stop the spread of a sentient meteorite known only as the Blackrock, before it corrupts the planet entirely.

Dropped into hostile terrain with only a portal, a shard generator, and your launchpad, you’ll need to summon and command units called Bravelings — autonomous fighters born to resist the Glimmergrubs, the grotesque minions spawned by the Blackrock.

Features:

  • Command the BCF – Step into the boots of a tactical Commander with real-time combat control.

  • Fend off Glimmergrubs – Face swarms of corrupted enemies that evolve and swarm relentlessly.

  • Summon Bravelings – Use collected shards to deploy autonomous soldiers that fight by your side.

  • Upgrade Everything – Enhance your troops, defenses, generator, and your own combat skills.

  • Tactical Base Defense – Protect the generator, and outlast the corruption.

  • Fast-Paced Pixel Combat –  Shoot with precision in animated pixel style.

  • Destroy the Blackrock – The fight isn’t over until the Blackrock is destroyed.

Blackrock originally began as a small learning project to explore coding, game design, and the possibilities of GameMaker. Over time, it steadily grew into a larger experience — one that continues to evolve.

This is a long-term passion project, developed and expanded step by step.
Development is ongoing, with regular updates, gameplay improvements, and new features planned.
