About This Game

Boundless AI Fantasy is an indie RPG that combines AI-driven roleplaying with tactical turn-based combat. Players can design their own campaigns, characters, locations, and stories through the editor, then watch as language models narrate and evolve these stories in real time, delivering a personalized, dynamic adventure. When conflict arises, dive into tactical turn-based combat on an isometric grid.

Narrative Quality!

• Characters That Think: NPCs think for themselves before acting; each one's descriptions and personality shape what they do, and you can watch their reasoning unfold before the narration. After that, the main narration model weaves their actions into the plot with what is happening. (The thinking text and the narration text have slightly different colors; the thinking can be disabled)

• By crafting your own world through the editor, you not only unleash your creativity but also enhance the AI's performance, giving context to the model and ensuring more engaging narratives.

Turn-Based Tactical Combat!

• Isometric, Grid-Based Battles: Press the Start Combat button whenever you want a fight; the view shifts to an isometric grid battlefield built from your current location, with the characters around you. Coordinate movement, exploit range, deploy spells. Characters earn EXP and level up from combat victories and quest completion.

World & Campaign Creation!

• Customizable Campaigns through the editor: Design campaigns from scratch, define locations, world descriptions and create characters with stats, background descriptions, and skills. Every attribute you set influences AI decision-making in roleplay or combat.

Local AI, Your Choice of Backend

AI models run locally on your own machine, no cloud, no subscriptions, no data leaving your PC. The game supports multiple backends: llama.cpp, Transformers, Ollama, and LM Studio. The game comes with two small open-source models bundled together.
