What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Mannequin Syndrome is launching in Early Access to deliver a strong, atmospheric horror experience from the very beginning while working closely with the community to shape the future of the game. The goal is to gather valuable feedback on gameplay mechanics, mannequin behavior, level design, pacing, and co-op balance. Early Access allows us to refine the core systems already in place, improve the overall experience, and expand the game over time with polish, new content, and deeper environmental storytelling based on player input. Your support will help guide development as we evolve Mannequin Syndrome into a more intense and memorable horror experience.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I expect Mannequin Syndrome to remain in Early Access for approximately 12 to 18 months. However, this estimate may change depending on community feedback, development progress, and the scope of planned improvements.

My objective during Early Access is to polish the core gameplay, improve mannequin behavior and overall balance, expand the game with additional content over time, and strengthen the overall horror experience until it reaches a more complete and satisfying state for players.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“I plan to expand Mannequin Syndrome beyond its Early Access version by increasing the overall scope of the game with additional content, broader gameplay variety, and further refinement of the core horror experience. This may include new maps, more mannequin-related gameplay variation, expanded environmental interactions, and additional systems that build on the current objective-driven structure.

During Early Access, my focus is on polishing the core gameplay, improving mannequin behavior and balance, refining co-op and solo play, and strengthening the systems already in place through community feedback. The full version is intended to feel more complete, more varied, and more refined based on what players respond to most.

Please note that the final content and feature set may evolve over time based on development progress, testing, and community feedback.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version of Mannequin Syndrome includes one fully playable investigation zone set inside the Syntrax Facility. Players face a mannequin threat that becomes more dangerous as objectives are completed, creating increasing pressure as the round progresses.

Core systems such as multiplayer co-op for 1–4 players, solo play, task-based progression, environmental puzzles, shutdown progression, and the player death and spectator flow are already functional. Safe zone logic and a range of interactive facility systems are also in place to support the core survival horror experience.

This version reflects the current foundation of the game’s horror gameplay loop. Future updates may include bug fixes, visual improvements, additional content, expanded gameplay variety, and further refinement based on player feedback.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I currently plan to release Mannequin Syndrome as a free-to-play game, and I do not intend to change that during or after Early Access. The goal is for the game to remain free as development continues.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I plan to involve the community primarily through the official Discord server, where players can share feedback, report bugs, and suggest improvements directly.

I may also invite community members to test upcoming changes before wider updates when needed. This approach helps me shape Mannequin Syndrome around real player feedback while improving the game over time.”
