About This Game

First Age is a card based strategy game that allows you to experience the birth of humanity through to the dawn of first civilisation. Grow from a neolithic tribe into a bustling city, manage resources, discover and invent new cards, all whilst trying to survive the test of time.

Stack cards onto other cards to create new buildings structures, work environments and learn new technologies. For example dragging the 'Villager' on top of the 'Forest' will produce berries for your city to eat next turn (amongst the chance of rate loot), and combining both 'Sticks' and 'Reeds' will invent a new card for you to build. Discover, Craft, Invent your way to prosperity.

Features

  • 250+ cards to collect

  • 50+ technologies to invent

  • 100+ cultures to learn

  • 50+ religions to pray to

  • 50+ unique ages to play through

  • 1+ Dogs to pet, 1+ Cats to Pstststst

First Age's building systems involve districts and typical card placement, building a district and connecting cards around it to build up bonuses that plays into the strength of your civilisation, with over 100 unique cards and 100's of unique upgrades for each, you wont be short of new theory crafting card layouts.

  • Roughly 14 Trillion combinations with default cards inside of every district, each with its own distinct synergy and build, giving an easy onboarding and a great level of depth for you to master the game (you can build wide or tall, increasing your districts to as many as you need).

  • Upgrade your cards through the several types of conditions that alter how each of your cards play, regardless of in a district, or far outside the reaches of your towns. Each card can be utilised to play the game that isn't typical of a normal strategy.

From Barley to Berrys, Slate and Stone, First Age's provides a great variety of loots that are core to the progress of each turn. All resources provide a means of inventing new technologies, or for constructing new cards and districts. You must balance this with the needs of your villagers, a careful balance of the scales to prosperity.

  • Littered Environment cards sprawl across the map. working any of these cards will produce loots that can be used for unlocking new technologies, upgrading existing cards or towards your win condition.

  • Every turn matters, devoting your villagers to finding more exotic loots to craft new cards can be valuable, but with the risk for survival in the next age. Will you spend your time harvesting loot in search of new technologies , or remain on safe soil for needed wheats and meats in the upcoming winters?

  • Become Self sufficient through building your own economies, build up cards that can enlighten your people into religion, or feed them for a generation. Your builds are completely up to you.

Each new age will force the tests of time our ancestors once endured, with hundreds of possible situations you must overcome as your civilisation. The Age of Famine will cause your crops to die for that age, forcing quick planning for the end of the age. The Age of Enlightenment give your technologies a much needed boost. You can adapt of become one with the history books.

  • Each new Age gives your playthrough interesting situations to overcome, both good and bad. you can completely ignore fulfilling the needs of each age, and strive to survival, or flourish from the prosperity that comes with it.

  • With twelve ages to find in a playthrough, and dozens you can unlock and discover there will always be something interesting to engage with even as an experienced strategy veteran

The World of First Age is intended to feel more than just placing cards. All cards in the game are designed to interact in a way that makes your civilisation feel alive; 'Farmers' walking over to 'Field Cards' to harvest the planes, 'Builders' repairing 'Thatched Huts' and 'Scouts' petting their favourite canine companion, you become strangely attached to the city you've built in a way rarely experienced in card games.

  • Hundreds of hand crafted cards, all with unique interactions and animations, this isn't really a large mechanic of the game, i'm just very proud of this feature..
