What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“DinoSystem is a systems-heavy solo project. Early Access gives me a larger pool of players to expose edge cases, test balance and show me which parts of the simulation or interface are difficult to understand. Player feedback has directly influenced the development plan.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“DinoSystem is approaching version 1.0, but there is no fixed release date yet. It will leave Early Access when the remaining core work is complete and the game is stable enough to be presented as a finished product. Progress is documented through Steam announcements and the development roadmap.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Version 1.0 is planned to complete the remaining God Mode tools, improve onboarding through the emergent narrative, expand late-game variety and bring the existing systems to a more polished and stable state. Development may continue after 1.0 with further content and improvements.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current build includes both God Mode and Survival Mode. Procedural islands, animal life cycles, seasons, weather, water, fire, vegetation, crafting, building and character physiology are all functional.

Survival Mode already supports long sandbox games, although late-game variety and onboarding still need work. God Mode is playable but has fewer direct tools than planned for version 1.0.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price is expected to increase when DinoSystem leaves Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I read feedback on Steam and Discord and use it to prioritize bug fixes, balance changes, usability improvements and new features. Detailed bug reports and examples of unclear mechanics are particularly useful.”

About This Game

ONE ISLAND, TWO WAYS TO PLAY

DinoSystem is a living prehistoric ecosystem where everything is connected.

Play as a godlike overseer and shape the island from above, or enter the world as a human and try to survive inside it.

In God Mode, you can observe and manipulate the ecosystem, alter the environment, control animals and experiment with the systems that keep the island alive.

In Survival Mode, you are just another creature in that world. Find food and water, build shelter, hunt, fish, craft tools and learn how to live alongside the animals around you.

The island is not built around you. It keeps changing whether you interfere or not.

NOTHING APPEARS JUST BECAUSE THE GAME NEEDS IT

Animals are born, grow, reproduce, age and die. Plants grow according to environmental conditions. Water flows through the terrain and collects in puddles, rivers and lakes. Weather changes the world around you.

Every creature needs food, water and shelter. Predators depend on prey. Herbivores depend on vegetation. Populations can grow, migrate, decline or disappear depending on what happens around them.

There are no scripted encounters designed to keep you entertained.

The world simply keeps running.

You can interfere with it, study it, exploit it or simply try to survive inside it.

YOUR BODY IS PART OF THE SIMULATION

Survival is not just about managing an inventory.

Your body changes according to the way you live.

Food affects your nutrition and body composition. Physical activity affects your stamina and muscle. Temperature, hydration, sleep and exertion all interact with your physical condition.

Eat too much and you can gain weight.

Work hard and your body adapts.

Stay cold, hungry, dehydrated or exhausted for too long and your performance suffers.

Your character is not just a collection of statistics. Your physical condition is part of the simulation.

A WORLD OF CONNECTED SYSTEMS

DinoSystem is built around systems that interact with one another rather than existing as isolated features.

Weather affects temperature and water.

Water affects vegetation.

Vegetation affects herbivores.

Herbivores affect predators.

Your actions can alter these relationships in ways that are not always predictable.

The island is procedurally generated, with different terrain, vegetation and water systems creating a different environment each time.

You can hunt, fish, gather, farm, craft, build and explore, but none of these activities exist in isolation from the world around you.

There are dinosaurs, mammals, birds, reptiles and other animals, each with their own needs and behaviours.

There are seasons, changing weather, fires, reproduction, aging, diseases, injuries and many other systems working together beneath the surface.

The result is a world that can produce situations the game never explicitly planned.

SURVIVE YOUR WAY

There is no single correct way to play DinoSystem.

You can build a safe home and live off the land.

You can become a hunter.

You can fish, farm or gather.

You can explore the island and adapt to whatever you find.

Or you can simply observe the ecosystem and see what happens.

If you want to experiment, God Mode lets you interfere with the world directly.

If you want to test yourself, Survival Mode puts you inside the simulation with nothing guaranteed.

The same world powers both experiences.

You are simply looking at it from a different perspective.

EARLY ACCESS

DinoSystem is a solo-developed project and is still being expanded and refined.

Both game modes and the core simulation are playable now. Late-game variety and the remaining God Mode tools are still being improved on the road to version 1.0.
