What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We’re launching The Mirage in Early Access to gather valuable player feedback and refine the game’s mechanics, storytelling, and world-building. Early Access will allow players to experience the core of the game, including the time-traveling mechanics and evolving liminal spaces, while helping shape the final experience with their input. We’re committed to delivering a truly immersive and suspenseful experience, and your feedback will help make The Mirage even better.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“1 Year”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“In the Early Access phase, The Mirage offers a core experience centered around time-travel mechanics, exploration of liminal spaces within the time machine, and survival against evolving shadow-like entities. The full version aims to expand upon this foundation by:

Enhancing narrative depth: Introducing additional story layers, character development, and environmental storytelling elements to enrich the player's understanding of the game's world and lore.

Expanding gameplay mechanics: Introducing new gameplay elements, puzzles, and interactions that build upon the existing mechanics, providing players with fresh challenges and experiences.

Refining AI behavior: Improving the intelligence and behavior of in-game entities, making them more reactive and challenging, thereby increasing the game's overall difficulty and engagement.

Optimizing performance and visuals: Implementing technical improvements to ensure smoother gameplay, enhanced graphics, and a more immersive atmosphere.

Polishing user interface and experience: Refining the game's interface and user experience based on player feedback to ensure intuitive navigation and interaction.

Adding new content: Introducing additional levels, environments, and features that expand the game's world and provide players with more content to explore.

Please note that these plans are subject to change based on community feedback and development progress.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Mirage is currently in the pre-production phase. At this stage, we are finalizing the game's concept, mechanics, and narrative elements. The core gameplay loop, including time-travel mechanics, exploration of liminal spaces, and survival elements, is being carefully designed to ensure a compelling and immersive experience.

As development progresses, we plan to release an Early Access version that will allow players to experience the foundational aspects of the game. This will include:

Core Gameplay Mechanics: Initial implementations of time-travel mechanics and exploration elements.

Early Narrative Content: Introduction to the game's story and setting.

Basic Environmental Design: Early versions of the research facility and liminal spaces.

Please note that the Early Access version will be a work-in-progress, and we encourage players to provide feedback to help shape the game's development.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, we plan to offer The Mirage at a lower price during Early Access to reward early adopters who support the game's development. As we add more content, refine gameplay, and enhance features, the price will gradually increase to reflect the expanded scope and value of the final release. Players who purchase the game during Early Access will receive all future updates and the full version at no additional cost.”

About This Game

The year is 2000.
You’ve broken into the long-abandoned EQUO Research Facility, mysteriously shut down in 1985. Beneath the ruins, hidden in the underwing, you find The Mirage — an experimental time machine designed to simulate the world as it was. A 'Save File' of the world.

The Mirage recreates places, not people. It builds a version of the past — empty, silent, frozen in time.
Until you enter it.

Your presence confuses the system. It starts trying to rebuild life… but it gets it wrong.
Shadows begin to appear. They follow you. They change. They become something else.

Explore a fractured facility through decades of decay.
Travel between timelines. Recover items. Solve puzzles. Uncover what EQUO was hiding — and what the Mirage is becoming.
As you dig deeper, the machine begins to generate new spaces… spaces that were never real.
And the things inside those spaces are starting to remember you.
