What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We believe that player feedback is essential to shaping BugLab into a rich and engaging simulation experience. Early Access allows us to gather community input and refine game systems like insect breeding, lab building, automation, and the economic loop before full release.

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We estimate that BugLab will remain in Early Access for approximately 3 to 4 months. This timeline may change depending on community feedback and development pace.

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to continue developing the game throughout the Early Access period. In the future, we are considering adding new insect species, more terrarium upgrade options, an expanded quest system, and additional farming mechanics. We also aim to explore customer and market interactions, various simulation features, and new content to enrich player progression.

These developments are intended to be planned and shaped based on player feedback and gameplay data. Steam Achievements and Steam Cloud support are also part of our current roadmap. However, all of these features are in the planning stage and may change over time”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current version includes core gameplay features: bug collection, feeding and selling systems, terrarium placement and upgrades, basic quest progression, basic farm actions, basic automation systems, save/load functionality, and full simulation loop. It is stable and playable.

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. We plan to increase the price gradually as new content and features are added. Players who support us during Early Access will receive the game at a lower price.

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We will involve players through Steam discussions, in-game feedback systems, and surveys. BugLab's design will evolve based on player suggestions, bug reports, and gameplay balance feedback.

About This Game

BugLab isn't just another simulation game — it's a deep laboratory management experience where tiny creatures power big ambitions.

What starts with a single terrarium evolves into a growing production empire. Raise, feed, sell, automate, and process various insect species, each with unique needs and economic value. As you manage the life cycles within your terrariums, you'll need to balance resources and make strategic decisions as your systems expand.

Production goes far beyond insects. Cultivate tomatoes, wheat, and cabbage in farm plots, produce honey through beekeeping systems, and process gathered raw materials into feed using specialized machines. The food chain you build becomes the backbone of your entire ecosystem.

The game is designed with rich mechanics such as automated feeding, feed production, resource conversion, inventory systems, upgradable hives and terrariums, quests, timed machines, and even interactions with the world outside your lab.

🧪 Unlock new systems over time as the game continues to grow.
🐛 Each insect species introduces unique challenges and benefits.
🌱 Build, manage, and optimize your own production loop.
🔄 Regular content updates bring new species, structures, and mechanics to discover.

BugLab is the playable embodiment of “building a grand system from tiny lifeforms.” Start your own insect-based production journey and take the first step into a one-of-a-kind experience!
