What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“The core feature of Dancing Wings - The Aerobatic Simulator —creating your own formation by layering replays of your flights—is already playable. However, we would like to further expand the game's content, including CURRICULUM, where players learn and practice flying skills.

Through Early Access, we aim to gather player feedback to guide the addition of training lessons, improvements to existing features, and adjustments to usability and difficulty, helping us shape a more rewarding experience for the full release.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect the Early Access period to last approximately three to four months. However, we may extend this period depending on development progress and player feedback. We will announce the timing of the full release alongside updates on development progress.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“For the full release, we plan to add more CURRICULUM training lessons, expand the courses and features available in additional challenges, and add more background music. We also plan to improve usability, adjust difficulty, and fix bugs based on player feedback.

Planned additions and the requirements for accessing each mode may change depending on development progress and feedback.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The core flight and formation creation systems are already implemented, and the following content is playable:

* CURRICULUM: 11 formation flying lessons
* FREE FLIGHT: Fly freely
* OVERLAY: Create formations by layering replays of your own flights
* NETWORK: Upload and share replays

During Early Access, we will build on this foundation by expanding the content, improving features, and fixing bugs.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price will remain the same after Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We welcome bug reports, suggestions for additional CURRICULUM lessons and background music, and any other feedback or requests through the Steam Community discussions. Please post suggestions about content unlocked after completing CURRICULUM in the dedicated spoiler forum.

Your feedback will help us plan additional content, improvements, and development priorities. However, we cannot promise to implement every request.”

About This Game

Flight simulator dedicated to team aerobatics -- no gun, no missile.

YOU CAN DO IT SOLO

You don't need anyone else. You can do it solo with the replay overlay function. First, you fly as Lead, and save your replay data. Second, you enter the replay overlay mode, fly as Wingman together with Lead that you previously played as, and save the new replay -- now you have a replay of two aircrafts. You can overlay up to 6 ships.

TRAINING FROM BASIC TO ADVANCED

This game provides various trainings from basic to advanced. The basic level includes level flight, ascend/descend, turn, takeoff and landing. The advanced level teaches you how to fly in a formation.

DOWNLOAD/UPLOAD REPLAY OVER INTERNET

Replay data can be downloaded from or uploaded to the server. You can join (overlay) the team performance done by someone else in the world, or vice versa.

REALISTIC AERODYNAMICS

The game employs a realistic aerodynamic simulation of lift, gravity, thrust and drag.

REALISTIC LANDSCAPE

You'll also enjoy the landscape modeled from actual height data of the northeast region in Japan, around Higashi-matsushima city.
