About This Game

Only a madman would dream of conquering the entire world… Are you that madman?

GENERAL IDLER is an idle conquest game set on a parallel Earth — 195 nations, real borders, and one objective: total world domination. You start with a single home country and nothing but ambition. Build industries to generate cash. Fund military units to generate Army Power. Accumulate enough AP, declare war on a neighbor, and add their flag to your wall. Then do it again. And again. Across every continent on the globe.

─── THE SNOWBALL ───

There is no per-conquest reset. Every country you take feeds the next one. Cash compounds. Army carries forward. Industry slots grow with every conquest. Your empire snowballs into a single long campaign — until you choose to end it.

─── DEPLOY NUCLEAR ───

When you've squeezed every medal out of a cycle, hit DEPLOY NUCLEAR. The cycle wipes — territory, cash, army, all of it — and pays out a single massive medal lump sum. Spend those medals on permanent upgrades that make the next cycle faster, sharper, harsher. The empire-scaling drag (every conquest stiffens enemy defense) eventually tells you it's time. YOU decide when to cash in. YOU decide when to push for one more conquest.

─── RIVAL GENERALS ───

Three AI commanders — Genghis, Douglas, and Bubba — compete with you for the same Earth. They build empires of their own. They invade neutral countries. They invade EACH OTHER. The news ticker lights up with "GENGHIS SEIZES MOROCCO FROM BUBBA" as the parallel war churns on. You can take their territory. They cannot take yours — the idle-game contract holds.

─── PLAN YOUR ROUTE ───

Geography is your first weapon. You can only invade countries that share a land border with your territory, OR sit within 600 km of your coastline (Florida → Cuba qualifies; Hawaii does not). Islands aren't gated by tech anymore — Naval Operations becomes a −25% AP discount on island targets, not a hard lock. Sparse, vast nations like Russia, Canada, and Mongolia defend harder than their populations suggest. Every path to world domination is a puzzle.

─── BUILD YOUR ECONOMY ───

Eight industry types from Agriculture to Energy, each unlocked through the Tech Tree. Stack synergy bonuses between industries on the same territory — Mining + Manufacturing, Oil + Energy, Technology + Banking, Logistics anywhere. Every conquest grants a new industry slot on your active country. Watch your cash-per-second multiply as the empire spreads.

─── RESEARCH & UPGRADE ───

36 Tech Tree nodes across four branches — Economy, Military, Intelligence, and Infrastructure. Unlock new industry types, new unit tiers, AP bonuses, slot expansions, AP discounts. Permanent across every Nuke. Plan your research order like a campaign.

─── ONE CURRENCY, TWO BOARDS ───

Medals fund both the Tech Tree and the Requisitions Board — ten permanent global upgrades, five tiers each. Cash multipliers. AP multipliers. Offline income caps. Army speed. Medal income. These carry forever. The difference between your first cycle and your fiftieth is enormous.

─── IDLE WHILE YOU'RE AWAY ───

Industries run while you sleep. Return to offline earnings waiting on the command table. The longer you've been away, the richer your empire. Upgrade your offline cap in the Requisitions Board to extend how much you collect.

─── A CRT WAR ROOM ───

Gunmetal panels. Three-tier amber typography. Phosphor scanlines, barrel distortion, chroma fringe, flicker. A boot sequence at launch. A live events ticker. A toggleable Political Map mode. A fullscreen War Room (press Tab) for the strategic overview. A War Declaration Dossier before every invasion. The whole thing looks and feels like a Cold War situation table running on a CRT in a bunker.

─── KEY FEATURES ───

  • 195 NATIONS: Real borders, real adjacency, parallel-Earth populations. Defense scales with each country's area-to-population ratio.

  • SNOWBALL CYCLES: No per-conquest prestige. Your empire compounds into one long campaign until you choose to nuke it.

  • NUCLEAR DEPLOYMENT: Player-triggered prestige. One button, one massive medal payout, one fresh cycle.

  • THREE RIVAL GENERALS: Persistent AI empires that fight you AND each other on the same map. Eliminating all three is an emergent late-game achievement.

  • UNIFIED MEDAL ECONOMY: One currency funds both research and global upgrades. No second resource to manage.

  • TECH TREE: 36 permanent nodes across Economy, Military, Intelligence, Infrastructure.

  • 8 INDUSTRIES: Agriculture, Mining, Manufacturing, Oil & Gas, Technology, Banking, Logistics, Energy. Synergy stacks per country.

  • 8 UNIT TIERS: Infantry through Strategic. Each tier unlocked by a Military tech node.

  • MEDAL SHOP: 10 permanent global upgrades, 5 tiers each. Compounds across hundreds of nukes.

  • COMMANDER RANK: 11-tier ladder from RECRUIT to SUPREME COMMANDER. Promotion ceremony on every step up.

  • INTEL EVENTS: Ambient news flashes every 4–10 minutes deliver cash spikes, AP rallies, and requisition discounts.

  • OFFLINE EARNINGS: Your empire works while you don't.

The world is waiting, General.

Command. Conquer. Snowball. Nuke. Repeat.
