What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“The game is fully playable from start to finish, but a lot of what makes a management/city-builder game satisfying — pacing, difficulty curve, how clear the systems feel to new players, how rewarding progression is over dozens of hours — only becomes clear once real players engage with it in ways we can't fully predict from internal testing alone.
We're using Early Access to put the game in front of a wider audience, watch how different playstyles interact with our systems, and use that feedback to refine balancing, pacing, and clarity before considering the game complete. We're committed to iterating with the community throughout this process rather than treating it as a one-way release.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We're expecting Early Access to last under 6 months. The game is already complete from start to finish, so this period isn't about building missing content — it's focused on refining balancing, pacing, and UI clarity based on real player feedback before calling the game finished.

That said, we'd rather extend this window than rush a 1.0 release if the feedback shows there's more work to do. We'll keep the community updated on our timeline as we go.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

The Early Access version already contains the full game loop from start to finish. For the 1.0 release, we plan to expand primarily in three areas:

Vehicles — we plan to add more vehicle types to diversify how players manage transportation and logistics across their cities.
Schooling system — we plan to deepen the education mechanics, adding more depth to how schools function and how they tie into the broader city simulation.
Logistics — we plan to expand and refine the logistics systems, giving players more tools and complexity in how goods and resources move through their cities.

Beyond these additions, we'll continue refining balancing, pacing, and UI clarity based on community feedback throughout Early Access, as outlined above.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version already contains the complete core game loop from start to finish — players can build their land, manage the economic zones (residential, commercial, and industrial), and grow their city through the full progression. Basic systems for vehicles, schools, and logistics are already in place and functional, though not yet as deep as we plan for the 1.0 release. The game is also fully localized into 9 languages. We are actively balancing the worker economy and refining density and happiness mechanics based on ongoing testing.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, we plan to increase the price as we move from Early Access to the 1.0 release. The Early Access price reflects the current state of the game, and we want to reward players who join early and support development along the way. As we add more content and depth to systems like vehicles, schools, and logistics, the price will gradually increase to reflect that added value.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Discord will be our main channel for community involvement during Early Access. We'll use it to share updates on development, gather direct feedback on balancing and new systems like vehicles, schools, and logistics, and let players report bugs or suggest changes. We want the community's input to genuinely shape decisions throughout Early Access, not just be a support channel.”

About This Game

Build the machine that builds the city.

Factopia combines the deep, satisfying logistics of a factory-automation game with the growth and management of a city builder. Design production lines that mine, process, and assemble resources — then route everything you make into a living city that depends on it.

Nothing in Factopia exists in isolation. The steel you smelt becomes the beams for a new hospital wing. The electronics you assemble stock a police station's equipment. Every chain you optimize on the factory side has a direct, visible payoff on the city side.

KEY FEATURES

  • Factory-Grade Automation — Design multi-stage production chains, balance throughput, and eliminate bottlenecks across sprawling industrial complexes.

  • A City That Needs You — Residential, commercial, and industrial zones grow based on the resources and services you actually deliver, not abstract meters.

  • Essential Services, Real Stakes — Keep schools staffed, hospitals stocked, police funded, and fire departments equipped. Neglect the supply chain and the city feels it.

  • Density & Happiness Systems — Manage how your city grows vertically and horizontally, and keep citizens satisfied as demand scales.

  • Built for Optimizers — Clean, legible systems reward players who love fine-tuning throughput as much as watching a skyline grow.

EARLY ACCESS

Factopia is entering Early Access with its core factory-to-city loop fully playable. Over the course of Early Access, we're expanding vehicles, deepening logistics, and adding new city systems on the way to 1.0 — with your feedback shaping priorities along the way.
