À propos de ce jeu

🌑 After the End —
A somber, open-world RPG of wandering, memory, and the ruins left after the gods fall.

Ragnarok has come and gone — but the world did not end.
It simply… broke.

You awaken on a shattered northern shore with no memory, marked by a faint rune that glows beneath your skin. Midgard lies quiet and wounded around you: villages reduced to ash, forests twisted by old magic, and creatures prowling the ruins with hunger and purpose. The gods have vanished. The world tree burns in the distance. And the land hangs in a fragile balance between life, death, and something in between.

After the End is an atmospheric 2D action-RPG where exploration, subtle storytelling, and dangerous combat shape your journey across a hand-crafted post-Ragnarok world. There are no glowing quest markers, no forced paths — only the quiet pull of places long forgotten and the whispered stories they still hold.

Your task is simple: wander, survive, and understand what remains.

But as you follow fading memories, fractured runestones, and the broken remnants of the divine, you’ll uncover a truth that binds you to the fall of the gods — and to whatever is trying to rise from their ashes.

Each enemy type — from stalking Dökkálfar to wolf packs and ancient spirits — has its own behaviors, weaknesses, and dangers.

🌲 An Open World That Doesn’t Hold Your Hand

Wander through ruined villages, overgrown shrines, frozen fjords, and shadowed forests.
Paths are never forced. Story and lore are discovered naturally through exploration, not markers.

📜 A Story Told Through Ruins and Survivors

Find fragments of the past in forgotten homes, toppled statues, and the final words of those who came before.
Meet survivors like Hagarth and Erlan, each carrying grief, secrets, and their own reasons to persist.

🛡️ Rune-Marked Progression

Your glowing rune is tied to a lesser-known forgotten god — and unlocking its power reveals who you were… or who you were meant to be.
Grow through two skill paths:

  • The Way of Valor — steel, timing, and martial discipline

  • The Way of the Seer — intuition, runes, and fading remnants of magic

🧳 Gear That Tells a Story

Weapons and armor are relics of the old world — cracked, repaired, and etched with runes that alter your abilities.
Scavenge, craft, and customize to survive the threats that linger.

🐺 A Living, Dying Bestiary

Battle creatures shaped by corruption and divine fallout:

  • Dökkálfar that stalk your blind spots

  • Wolves that circle and exhaust you

  • Undead warriors lingering from the final battle

  • Wraiths born from divine sorrow

  • Monstrous Jötnar twisted by cursed blood

No encounter is trivial. Every enemy teaches you something.

📖 Journal UI Like a Living Saga

Flip through a dynamically animated journal containing quests, maps, skills, and lore — a physical record of your journey through a world lamenting its own memories.
