SHANHAI: Myth Origins Demo: A multiplayer action roguelike inspired by the Classic of Mountains and Seas (Shanhaijing). Enter a parallel Shanhaijing world, forge your own divine weapons, wield the Five Elements—Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, and Earth—collect artifacts, bind spirits and capture monsters, and build your very own hero.

A legend from antiquity

It is said that reaching the end of three sacred stars grants immortality. Yet the three stars that bathed the land for centuries suddenly vanished. Just before they disappeared, a green beam lanced toward the earth—an explosion followed, emerald shards rained across the world, floods rose, and wondrous beasts with uncanny powers appeared.

A figure in a bronze mask, wielding five-colored spirit stones, led these beasts to tame the deluge, and humankind began an era of coexistence. Then one day, the creatures turned violent. Darkness fell. Our hero sets forth to save the people and unravel the secret of the Three Stars…

Five-Element sorcery (Wu Xing)

In the demo, you’ll experience the interplays of the Five Elements. Only by truly mastering them can you counter and defend against beasts. Choose the right Spirit Orbs, socket them into weapons or armor, and obtain unique gear.

Beasts of the Shanhaijing

The demo features two complete stages. In the world of SHANHAI you’ll encounter beasts with extraordinary powers. You can fight them, or use a Binding Talisman to capture them to fight for you. Why have these beasts grown so feral? The secret awaits you—yet beware: it feels as if a mysterious gaze is always upon you.

A distinct weapon-building system

The demo provides two weapon types—sword and staff. By synthesizing and upgrading gear, you’ll obtain powerful sets and skills. Socketing different Spirit Orbs grants different attributes. Ancient relics bestow great power; collect and combine them to craft a truly one-of-a-kind godly set. You can also use Object Mastery to control additional weapons that assist you, letting you wield multiple ancient artifacts at once.

Legendary Divine Artifacts

In the demo, you’ll be able to collect a variety of legendary divine artifacts, each with unique powers. From the “Sea-Calming Needle,” which can unleash mighty attacks, to the “Wind-Taming Pearl,” which controls the entire battlefield, and even the “Spiritbinding Talisman,” which binds spirits and commands them to subdue mythical beasts—these treasures will step out of myth and into the game as trusty weapons in your hands.

Ancient divine beasts

The demo offers Easy and Normal difficulties, plus a permanent progression system for your character. Grow stronger through play and choose the difficulty that fits your skill. Formidable ancient divine beasts await your challenge—overcome every trial, defeat them, and prove your strength.

Solo adventure or four-player co-op

The SHANHAI: Myth Origins demo features two playable characters and supports co-op for up to four players. Trade equipment and items, coordinate via the Five Elements’ generating/overcoming cycles, and achieve perfect synergy between gear and attributes.
