Once, you were a man of steel and duty—a protector sworn to the Imperial capital. But duty has a way of breaking those who uphold it. You failed to stop the assassination of Bröl Sentis, the noble you were sworn to protect, and in doing so, you made powerful enemies. Hunted by rival noble houses and the assassin himself, you abandoned the heartlands of the Empire and fled to the frontier.

Now, you are simply Fir, a fisherman in the quiet village of Whindthistle. The tides are steady, the waters deep, and the world beyond the shore feels like a distant storm. Yet, the rebellion stirs beneath the surface. The self-proclaimed kings of these lands tighten their grip on the people, and the Empire’s agents—the Torchbearers—struggle to contain the chaos.

You sell fish to those who need them, but not all coin finds its way to honest hands. Some of your earnings feed the rebellion. Some of your trades help those who wish to see the tyrants fall. You tell yourself you are just a fisherman now, that the past is behind you, but whispers of war carry on the wind. And sooner or later, the tide always returns what was cast away.
