Adorned with a seven-star forehelm and draped in a red satin python robe embroidered with the Circling Phoenix, the youngest mount-and-blade starlet of the Opera Troupe treads the stage in thick-soled boots before the break of dawn in perfect stage-circle, as the pheasant plumes on her headdress carve silver arcs through the morning mist. When she launches into her signature technique, her accompanying elder musicians quicken their instruments in seamless accord, striking up a staccato chorus of drums and gongs to match the rhythm of her whirling spear. In that fleeting moment, the battlefield itself becomes her grand stage.
