About This Demo

Doug and the Dungeon: Order of the Raven

One ordinary Tuesday in 1987, Doug, a shaggy-haired arcade tech with a love for synthwave and high scores, was fixing a glitchy cabinet at Starcade Central. The machine? A little-known fantasy game called Dungeon! Order of the Raven—a sword-and-sorcery dungeon crawler with pixelated skeletons and clunky MIDI music.

He was mid-solder on a busted circuit when the screen flashed an unnatural violet, the joystick sparked, and—ZAP!—Doug vanished.

He woke up in a dank forest clearing, surrounded by howling wind and the smell of moss and blood. Monsters roamed the land: goblins, undead, dragons. Magic was real. The rules of the game world now were the rules. His Casio watch, dead but still strapped to his wrist, was the only relic of his old life—and he clung to it like a totem. Even now, he mutters phrases from arcade games like battle cries. “Insert coin to continue!” he’ll yell before charging a pack of goblins.

Doug must find the Arcade machine relic that has zapped into this kingdom and hopefully restore him back to his time.  The machine is rumored to be deep in the dungeon guarded by magic, monsters, and traps.

Doug’s just a guy from the '80s, but he’s the kingdom’s last hope.
