Why Early Access?

“We expect Vessyl to remain in Early Access for approximately one year. However, this timeline may adjust based on community feedback and development needs to ensure a fully realized experience.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to expand on the Early Access foundation by pursuing the following ideas:

Additional Room Types
We plan to add at least three additional room types, each designed to bring new challenges and expand gameplay variety. We also hope to refine our existing seven room types, moving them beyond blockout status and working on improved layouts and visuals.

Enhanced Combat
We’re looking into at least three new unlockable combos to deepen the combat experience. These combos may open up new ways to chain normal attacks, stun attacks, and existing abilities, giving players more control and strategic options.

Progression Clarity
We plan to improve how players transition back to the HUB level, hoping to clarify roguelite elements and overall progression between runs.

UI Refinements & Player Customization
We’d like to continue refining the game’s UI, potentially adding new settings such as:
-A camera-behavior toggle for adjusting movement tracking
-Separate volume sliders for SFX, voice, and main audio
-A HUD toggle for players seeking a more immersive interface

These plans may evolve during development as we gather feedback and refine Vessyl. We appreciate everyone’s support in Early Access and will continue to iterate toward the best experience possible based on what we learn.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current version of Vessyl includes the following content, which while not polished, is fully present and functional within the game.
- 7 room types (Forge, Library, Prayer, Courtyard, Hallway, HUB, and Sacrifice)
- 3 Enemy types with unique abilities (Fanatic, Soothsayer, Templar).
- 11 combos total, 8 that are within the skill tree, and 3 that the player inherently starts with.
- Functional Death mechanic

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“While final pricing has not been determined, Vessyl will change in price. As an indie developer, we feel that the vision we have should hold a price, and we aim to create a game that is worthy of player investment.”

“We welcome the community into every part of Vessyl's structure. From pacing, aesthetics, feel, design, and even audio. It is incredibly important that we as developers understand the voice of you, the player.

About This Game

Play as a masked cultist infiltrating the sacred temples of an opposing force to restore your deity’s full power. Armed with your fists and divine abilities, battle through intense encounters in this dark rogue-lite beat ‘em up.

Grow stronger between runs by offering devotion, earning boons and blessings from your god. Choose your upgrades wisely and become the vessel worthy of your quest!

What to Expect in Early Access:

  • Devotion System: Earn Devotion points by defeating enemies and completing runs, then spend them on permanent upgrades to enhance future playthroughs.

  • Procedurally Generated Runs: Each run features 7 different room types, including combat encounters, challenge rooms, and reward chambers, all randomly placed for a unique experience.

  • Free-Flow Combat System: Use a mix of normal attacks, stun attacks, and unlockable combos to adapt your fighting style and control the battlefield.

  • Enemy Variety: Battle against 3 unique enemy types, each with distinct attack patterns and behaviors that require different strategies to overcome.

  • Stat Progression: Increase your Health, Attack, Luck, and Focus through equippable trinkets or by spending points in the skill tree between runs.

  • Combo Unlock System: Gain access to new attack combinations as you progress, allowing for deeper combat customization.
