About This Game

I confess: I hate mathematics.

Note: math or maths? Both, of course. I will use math but both are ok.

Do you like math? Many people will answer no. Math is notorious for being the bane of many students. It was a nightmare for me, too. Although not as much as seeing that nerdy classmate at school who, after showing you the perfect grade he got on his math test, smiled slightly at you saying “I didn't think I was going to do so well”. Bullshit, you knew it all along!

What is Math Challenge AR?

All of that led me to create Math Challenge AR. In this augmented reality game, you, at home, at school, at the beach, or wherever you want, can show the world that you can master mathematics, even if you are a bitter enemy of numbers. How? Very easy: by destroying numbers with your two laser weapons, numbers that move around you. All this to solve the increasingly complex problems that the system is proposing you, without rest and without a chance to breathe.

Training and campaign.

In the training phase you will be able to sharpen your intellectual and physical abilities. But it will be in the campaign where you can shoot the numbers, armed with two laser pointers, while you think about that math teacher who made your life miserable by telling you that there are more important things in life than video games, or invite that girl or that guy you like to the movies.

Incremental difficulty, and I'm not just talking about math.

Math Challenge AR is a game of math, dexterity, skill, and agility. Because solving the different mathematical problems that the system proposes incrementally in the campaign is only the main challenge. You will also have to manage the energy of your laser weapons, and, of course, survive the hordes of different drones and ships, which will try to prevent you from concentrating on the most important mission: solving all the math problems posed.

The game has twenty-five general levels, but, as in my beloved Civilization, “just one more level” is also available. In fact, the game can be played in infinite levels. If infinity is a mathematical concept, here we are going to make it real.

To conclude: what is mathematics?

I don't want to close these comments without mentioning the main theme of the game. Mathematics was created to make us suffer in school. Don't listen to those who say it is important for life. The engineers, the physicists, the mathematicians, are a hidden sect that dominates us with mathematics, so that we suffer and cannot realize our most important dreams, like playing video games or annoying our little brother.

Now comes our revenge, and it has a name. The name is: Math Challenge AR. A game where you are going to solve math, and try to survive it. Literally.

That's all. In the web you have all the information about the game, manual, FAQ, etc. I'm also posting some articles about what mathematics is, and other aspects related to this mysterious world of numbers. If you suspected that I'm wrong in the head, reading those articles will confirm all your suspicions. Here's your time for revenge!

Thank you very much!
