The game is a twin stick spaceship game where the player plays arena like short missions each consisting of few waves of alien ships. There are 100 different levels in 20 chapters. Missions tell the story of battle against green alien smoke.

Completing a mission gives an upgrade card. You can repeat the mission to get more cards, but only one can be selected from each mission. You can also e.g. mine asteroids to get extra extra cards.

If the game is too challenging you can battle the same missions with a friend. Multiplayer support both locally with controllers and with Steam friends online. You can also combine these.
