About This Game

Siegebound

A roguelike auto-battler meets tower defense.

Like in a classic auto-battler, you don't control your units in combat. You buy them, place them on the map, and they fight on their own. Buy the same unit again and merge the two to make it stronger, then choose what it becomes. Between sieges you build up your castle and its defenses. During a siege, an army comes for everything you built, and your hero fights alongside your units.

⚔️ Merge your army

Every unit grows on its own. Each merge lets you pick a trait from three options, and over time the unit evolves into a new form with new abilities. Two Archers can end the same run as completely different units.

There's no hand and no bench. Everything you own stands on the map and has to hold its ground.

🏰 Build up your castle

Raise walls and gates to hold the enemy back. Every building you place does something for you: some make your walls stronger, others bring in gold, make room for a bigger army, or even give you abilities to use during a siege. You can't have everything at once, so what you build decides how you play.

🗡️ Your hero fights too

Choose a class, level it up, and fight in the line with your army. Merge units into your hero to make your hero even stronger.

🎲 Every run is different

Traits are rolled fresh every time and evolutions branch in different directions, so your army never grows the same way twice. The units you can recruit change from map to map, and sets and evolutions stay hidden until you've discovered them.

☠️ Know your enemy

Soldiers storm your walls, archers shoot over them, and siege rams and catapults go straight for your defenses. The big sieges bring bosses, and sudden surges can hit your line all at once. Each map brings its own enemies with their own strengths, so no single strategy will carry you everywhere.

♾️ Endless sieges

There is no final wave. The sieges keep growing, with bigger ones along the way, until your castle falls. Hold out long enough and new maps open up. Every run is about getting further than the last one.

🏕️ The camp between runs

Between runs you return to your camp. Explore it, talk to the people who live there and follow the story as it unfolds. Spend what you earned on permanent camp upgrades, pick your class, and plan the next march from the war table.

🗺️ Make your own maps

Siegebound comes with a map editor. Shape the terrain, place camps and walls, set the enemy's paths and army composition, and play your own maps.

About the developer

Hi, I'm Matzgo, and I'm making Siegebound on my own. I've been working on it for about four years.

It comes from a love for strategy games like Age of Empires and Stronghold, and auto-battlers like Auto Chess. I wanted a castle you actually fortify, an army that actually grows, and runs that never play out the same way twice.

If you play it, I'd love to hear what you think.
