What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We have been working on the game for a long time. As a small team, we want players to experience the game early and share their thoughts.

Early Access allows us to refine mechanics, balance gameplay, and ensure that the game meets player expectations before the full release.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We aim to release the full game with the complete Bayaya story. We estimate this will take 6 to 12 months.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“While the game world is mostly finished, the Early Access version includes only the introductory chapters of the story.

We plan to expand the Bayaya storyline, and add additional characters and story elements. We aim to add more professions in the world, expand environmental interactions, and refine NPC behaviors to create a richer experience.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game offers a large, interactive world where players can explore, observe NPCs working, and help with daily tasks such as chopping wood, tending gardens, or moving sacks.

The story of Bayaya is introduced, and players can experience the opening chapters.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The Early Access price is lower to reflect the incomplete state of the game.

As we add more content and features, the price will increase. Players who buy Early Access will receive all future updates at no extra cost.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We plan to provide a forum at where the community can:

  • Share feedback on game features
  • Vote on priorities for new content
  • Discuss and suggest improvements

We plan to post regular updates about the game development on our developer blog, and we plan to have an optional beta channel available for those who want to test new features early at the cost of playing less polished game which can sometimes contain incomplete or broken features.”

About This Game

We need a hero. Become one!

Become Bayaya - a prince who, fed up with court politics, leaves the castle and tries to make a name for himself. Not wanting to have an easier life because of his noble blood, the prince decides to speak just one word, Bayaya. He also learns that there is a great danger coming to the land.

Will you grow as a person and defeat the evil dragon? Bayaya, based on a Czech fairytale of the same name, is a fairytale-like story meant to be enjoyed by everyone. The procedurally generated open world is always exciting to discover, and there’s always something to do.

The team behind Bayaya is led by the lead game programmer of Operation Flashpoint, ARMA and ARMA 2, Ondrej Spanel.

Key Features

Charming story

If you ever wanted to feel the childlike joy of experiencing a fairytale, Bayaya is the game for you. Set in a light fantasy setting, you will explore the land and experience a simple and fun story.

Toylike looks

Inspired by the toys from their childhood, the dev team chose a very specific art style. It is reminiscent of wooden toys and early 90s graphics. Let your imagination fill in the rest!

Combat based on real-life martial arts

The game features a combat system based on the German school of swordfighting. Plan out your moves, look for openings, and strike when the time’s right.

Extreme modability

Bayaya’s engine is very easy to mod and create new assets and stories for. Only basic programming skills are required. Make your own stories and share them with others!

Fun for all ages

Whether you are a child, a child’s parent, or anyone in between, you will find comfort and fun in Bayaya. From experiencing the story through playing in the sandbox mode to modding, you are going to find something you will like!

---

Mount your magical talking horse and traverse the enchanting lands of Bayaya. The game will be available in Early Access - stay tuned for its release!
