About This Demo

Okinawa Journal is a captivating point-and-click narrative game set during the summer of 2000 in the serene yet mysterious landscapes of Okinawa. You step into the ethereal role of Kami, a guardian angel tasked with guiding Haruki, a struggling journalist, as he delves into the baffling disappearance of a beloved actress.

The Okinawa Journal demo showcases a small selection of scenes from the full game. This consists of five fully playable locations with interactable objects, characters, spirits, as well as a map and inventory. Just as in the main game, the demo starts off in Haruki's office at the Okinawa Journal headquarters. The demo also includes its own set of goals to accomplish.

As you interact with objects and characters, locations, options, and choices will be revealed.

You’ll meet a diverse cast of characters—both human and spirit—each harboring their own secrets, ambitions, and obligations. As the demo unfolds, you’ll uncover a web of hidden truths tied to Okinawa’s dark past, with consequences that linger in the present.

With challenging decisions, five intriguing locations to explore, the Okinawa Journal demo invites you to start shaping a story where eventually, every choice carries weight.

With Haruki's Insight, you'll always know what still interests him. Also, Okinawa Journal is a succinctly written text-based game. There are no walls of text or meandering dialogue. The characters in the game summarize all their interactions in thought, which you, as a guardian angel, are able to understand.

Every click matters. Blindly clicking on everything could lead to unexpected consequences... or rewards.
