Appa is a unique rock paper scissor style strategy card game where you and your opponent both choose a card simultaneously trying to predict and out maneuver each other.

Use Synergizers, Cards and Afflictions to defeat manifestations of grief and trauma.

• Synergizers Affect the Cards. Afflictions Affect the user or the opponent.

• Almost Any card on the screen, whether its yours or your opponent's deck, can be synergized.

• 10,000+ move variations for you and your opponent each. They can range from cards that can destroy your opponent in one shot to cards that can change the meta of the game itself. 

• Progress through the story and Experience a heartfelt narrative of how two siblings bond and grow after their lives gets thrown into chaos.

A surreal slice of life drama about grief and death

Varun and Arundhati, living in Canada, receive the news that their abusive father, a failed local theatre artist, has passed away. Along with it comes a letter addressed to each of them, triggering nightmares rooted in lifelong trauma and unresolved grief as their father return in his theatre Costume. Follow their  journey as they struggle to make sense of their past and search for meaning and belonging in this Surreal Slice of Life drama. Eventually Both of them realize they are having the same nightmares and try to make sense of it by making the game in real life. Story is inspired by works of Charlie Kaufman and David Lynch.

The art of Appa is made with an impressionistic cinematic blend of pixel art comics, cinema and animation integrating unconventional techniques to create a painterly, soft pixel art style. The Art direction is blend of Culturally Rich Indian Themes and Surrealism.
