This demo is an early version of the new Space Grunts game: Chrono Shard currently being developed. This demo will be frequently updated in the next months as the game gets more content, improved game play, and slowly moves towards a full game.

You get to play through a couple of missions and see how the game is shaping up and what direction I'm moving with this! Feedback is welcome!

Chrono Shard is a combination of turn-based tactics and fast paced arcade action.

Navigate your way through procedurally generated space stations, taking out enemies or using the shockwave of your rockets, grenades and other explosions to simply move those enemies out of the way on your path to the end goal: Restoring the Hyper Gates

Story

Ooze has been spreading throughout the galaxy (also see OrangePixel's Residual) and using a network of HyperGates to infect more and more planets, space stations, and anything else it could reach.

Scientist have invented the Chrono Device which allows the Space Grunts tactical unit to place an area in a time-bubble, allowing them to close the malfunctioning HyperGate and stop the Ooze from spreading to new areas in the galaxy.

Each grunt carries a Chrono Shard which allows them to loop time in case of dying and place items that are also linked to the Chrono Device and will remain in place when time loops around.

Key features

• Chrono time - allowing you to replay a level when you die, while items placed and changes made in the level in previous attempts remain in tact for the retry

• Fast turn-based gameplay (as seen and enjoyed in the original Space Grunts)

• Tactical weapon usage with weapons having a "spread pattern"

• Explosive weapons generate shock-waves pushing/forcing entities around the map

• Procedurally generated
