What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We’re launching A.V.E.N.A. in Early Access because we’re a small team, and player feedback is an important part of how we want to shape the game.

Early Access gives us the opportunity to test the core gameplay loop with a real community, improve balance and progression, and better understand what players enjoy most. It also helps us identify which features and content should be prioritized as development continues.

We want the community to be part of that process. Your feedback will help us refine A.V.E.N.A. throughout development and make the game stronger over time.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“It’s too early for us to give an exact timeline.

Our current estimate is around one year in Early Access, but that may change depending on development progress and player feedback. We’d rather take the time needed to improve the game properly than commit to a date we may not be able to meet.

Our priority is to keep improving A.V.E.N.A. at a steady pace while building toward a stronger full release.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Our current plan for the full version is to offer a larger, more polished, and more feature-rich experience than the initial Early Access release.

During Early Access, we plan to expand the game with more content, including additional enemies, weapons, drone parts, progression options, and more worldbuilding, lore, and narrative elements. We also plan to develop the game beyond its initial single-player foundation, with co-op multiplayer planned for a later stage of development.

From a lore perspective, Early Access represents the pilot training phase of the Exploration Corps program, with deployments taking place in simulated environments based on real portal-side data. The full version is planned to move beyond training and into real exploration operations and live missions beyond the Primal Portal.

As development continues, we’ll also keep improving stability, balance, performance, and overall game feel based on player feedback.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current Early Access version includes a single-player experience built around the core gameplay loop of A.V.E.N.A.

Players can access a hub area and one playable mission zone featuring roguelite-style randomization, run-based upgrades, and repeatable deployments. The current build includes a small selection of drone parts available from the start, as well as a limited roster of approximately 4–5 enemy types with relatively simple behaviors.

From a narrative perspective, Early Access begins during the training phase of the Exploration Corps program, where corporations are searching for and evaluating new drone pilots.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes.

Our current plan is to gradually increase the price as the game grows during Early Access and major updates add more content and features.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We plan to involve the community primarily through Steam and Discord.

We want to gather feedback from players as they spend time with the game, and use that feedback to help guide balancing, prioritization, and future improvements. We’ll be paying close attention to community discussions, bug reports, and general reactions to the game as it evolves.

A.V.E.N.A. is being built by a small team, and community feedback will play an important role in helping us decide what to improve, expand, and refine throughout Early Access.”

About This Game

HUMANITY WANTS YOU

The Corporate Consulate has opened recruitment of pilots for the Exploration Corps: a multicorporate program tasked with researching the world beyond the Primal Portal.

Through a neural interface, you do not cross the gate in person. You pilot disposable drone frames from the safety of the research facility on Earth and send them into a hostile world on the other side. Your body stays home. Your drone does not.

   This is science.
   This is duty.
   This is a training program.

In practice, it is a live-fire research operation run by corporations that measure heroism in compliance reports, casualty rates, and quarterly output.

Beyond the portal lies the battlefield with entities that ended the old world: hostile machine forces, lost technology, and the long shadow of EVE, the planetary AI humanity remembers as a martyr. The public story is simple. The truth is not.

Every deployment is another controlled descent into the unknown. Fight through enemy territory, retrieve research, secure valuable technology, and bring back the data needed to improve the next run. The farther you push, the more the official narrative begins to crack.

You are not the first pilot.
You are not expected to be the last.

Note from a program Director:

At this stage of the program, all deployments are conducted in sanctioned combat simulations built from real portal-side data. Officially, no pilot is exposed to unnecessary risk before full operational rollout. Unofficially, the program is already collecting everything that matters: performance, obedience, and survivability.

Key Features

  • Pilot disposable combat frames
Deploy remote drone bodies through a one-way portal while your operator remains on the human side.

  • Build drones to match your playstyle

Choose your weapons, hull, chassis, and components to create a drone setup that fits the way you fight.

  • Roguelike core loop
Drones cannot come back, each run is randomized sequence of encounters with one-run upgrades.

  • Fight for research, not just survival
Recover field data, technology, and other strategic assets that expand what future deployments can do.

  • Push deeper with each run
Use what you bring back to improve your loadout, your capabilities, and your odds on the next deployment.

  • Enter a world built on propaganda and buried history
Explore a sci-fi setting shaped by corporate control, engineered patriotism, and the unresolved truth behind EVE, the Hivemind, and the Primal Portal.

  • Serve the program
Take part in an “exploration initiative” where every briefing sounds inspirational, every poster demands alignment, and every loss is already inside acceptable parameters.
