What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Luxmithar is being released in Early Access so development can be shaped alongside its players. The core gameplay loop, wave-based survival, grid expansion, and defensive construction, is already playable, but many systems are still evolving.

Early Access allows me to gather feedback on balance, pacing, progression, and usability while actively continuing development. As a solo developer working on a first commercial release, community input is especially valuable in identifying what works well, what needs refinement, and which areas deserve deeper focus.

The goal of Early Access is to iteratively improve Luxmithar through regular updates, player feedback, and ongoing experimentation, while maintaining a playable and enjoyable experience throughout development.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The current estimate for Early Access is between 1 and 3 years. Development length may vary depending on feedback, scope adjustments, and iteration needs as the game evolves.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“During Early Access, development will focus on expanding and refining existing systems rather than delivering a fixed roadmap. Areas currently planned for further development include narrative depth, progression systems, enemy variety, construction and crafting options, user interface clarity, and overall presentation.

The full version is intended to feel more complete in terms of content breadth, balance, polish, and cohesion. Features present in Early Access may be expanded, reworked, or adjusted based on testing and player feedback, and some ideas may change or be replaced as development continues.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version represents an early but playable state of Luxmithar. It includes the core survival loop: wave-based enemy attacks, grid-based world expansion, construction of defenses, resource harvesting, and roguelite-style progression across runs.

While the foundation of the game is in place, many systems are still in an initial form and may lack depth, balance, or polish. Content variety, progression tuning, narrative elements, and audiovisual presentation are actively being iterated on. Players should expect an evolving experience as development continues.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The game is planned to be available at a lower price during Early Access. As development progresses and the scope and polish of the game increase, the price may be adjusted accordingly. Early Access players will receive the game at the price they purchased it.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback will play an important role throughout Early Access. Player suggestions, discussions, and shared gameplay experiences will help guide balancing decisions, usability improvements, and feature priorities.

Feedback will be gathered primarily through Steam community discussions, player messages, and direct contact via the support email. Observing how players interact with the game and where friction or confusion occurs will help inform future updates and adjustments.”

About This Game

Luxmithar is a 2D survival defense roguelite built in Godot, where you defend a crashed forge-ship against escalating waves of hostile forces. Each run unfolds across multiple days as you harvest resources, expand a modular grid-based world, and construct layered defenses to hold back relentless alien incursions.

At the core of Luxmithar is a wave-driven survival loop. Enemies grow stronger and more adaptive with each passing day, forcing you to balance exploration, construction, and combat preparation. Expand your territory tile by tile, uncovering new biomes, hazards, and opportunities while shaping the battlefield to your advantage.

Build towers and traps, harvest energy from fallen foes, unlock blueprints, and forge tools, weapons, and defensive structures. As storms roll in, darkness spreads, and the world evolves, you’ll need to constantly adapt your build to survive elite enemies and powerful bosses.

Beneath the surface lies something ancient. Can you endure long enough to uncover the truth and reignite the Luxmithar?

Survive. Expand. Reignite the forge.
