Why Early Access?

“We believe our game uses mechanics that haven't been well explored and a cooperative approach with an audience will be beneficial to the overall design.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We intend to spend 6 months in Early Access. However, depending on feedback this may be shortened.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The games core features are complete and a full experience is provided as intended. Therefore, we only expect tweaks to game play will be implemented.

We intend to refine features and systems rather than adding any large new features. Refinements will focus on adjusting the games difficulty curve which consists of modifying drop rates and player upgrades. Adding or changing enemy attack patterns and behavior is also intended. These refinements will be community based.

New game modes are also intended to be added. Modes, such as, Limited Upgrades and Artifact Only.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“All intended systems and mechanics described in the "About This" section of the game are implemented.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The game will be priced the same as on release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Complex features that may need to be tweaked, such as, spell crafting will be re-evaluated based on feedback if needed. Other aspects of the games difficulty like the difficulty curve, enemy movement and attack patterns, enemy drops and terrain traversal could also be changed based feedback. Please feel free to send feedback to the our Discord server or the Steam forum.”

Embark on a thrilling adventure in various procedurally generated open worlds, where magic and mathematics collide. In Spell Magic, you'll craft and master powerful spells using the fundamental forces of arithmetic, geometry, and algebra.

As a skilled mathemagician, you'll explore a vast, ever-changing realm, teeming with fearsome monsters and challenging puzzles. Your quest is to unravel the secrets of the mystical arts, harnessing the power of numbers to bend reality to your will.

Explore Procedurally Generated Worlds

Each time you play, the world is reborn, offering a fresh experience. Various options to customize any new game are available. Options such as starting with any available upgrades or any amount of gold. Various modes all the way from permadeath to invincible exist with many more in-between.

Craft Your Spells

Combine mathematical concepts to create an arsenal of unique spells. Experiment with:

  • Geometric patterns for your shields and projectiles

  • Algebraic equations to create perfectly placed elemental attacks

  • Vector arithmetic to warp the 3rd dimension with your movement

As you progress, learn new mathematical techniques and concepts to expand your spellcasting repertoire. Or find powerful and complex spells by defeating enemies and exploring the world

Battle Monsters

Face off against a diverse array of monsters, each with its own strengths and weaknesses. Use your mathematical prowess to outmaneuver and defeat them, and claim their essence to fuel your spellcraft.

Solve Puzzles and Unlock Secrets

Decipher spells dropped by enemies to learn new techniques (or just use them directly back at any other enemy). Combine and configure artifacts collected to create overpowered builds. But be careful as not all artifacts will provide you with benefits.
