What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“I am releasing this game as "early access" to signify that I still have things I plan to add to the game before I will consider it to be complete. Especially things like user customization options, rebindable controls, UI/UX improvements, an online leaderboard, and additional gamemodes.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“My goal is for the game to remain in early access until the foundation is completed. There are no guarantees but I plan for early access to last for roughly 6 months to a year. If you're uncertain about whether to get this game or not, I would recommend only purchasing the game if you're happy with it as it is now, and not what it could become.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Everything is subject to change but my plan is for the final game to be like the current game, but better.

I plan to add quality-of-life improvements, new ways to play, an online leaderboard, an original soundtrack, full controller support, and alternative level environments among other things.

However, I should mention again that everything is subject to change and there are no guarantees.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“This is the current state of the early access version. What you see is what you get.

There are currently two primary gamemodes that are playable from start to finish with a scoreboard you can view after each game-over event.

There will hopefully be more in the future, but you should only judge the game by what it is now.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The current plan is that the game will become more expensive as new features and improvements are added. However, I plan to always price the game fairly in proportion to the value it provides to players.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I have a discord channel for discussions and I also read and consider feedback from direct emails and social media comments.”

About This Game

DWELLTRIS is a new take on the classic block-spinning, line-clearning, high-scoring games involving tetrominoes!

Your primary goal in DWELLTRIS is to prevent the “Core Stability” from reaching 0%. This is accomplished by clearing lines and crushing blocks.

WHAT MAKES DWELLTRIS UNIQUE?

  • Blocks can be cleared both horizontally and vertically by forming lines that wrap all the way around the sphere.

  • The Dark-colored blocks can also be slammed onto light-colored blocks to crush them. This will gain you a little extra time and Core Stability.

  • When the Core Stability reaches 0%, its Game Over. This means that lines must be cleared at a steady rate as time goes on.

All of this together means that DWELLTRIS tends to have fast rounds with aggressive and frenzied action.

OTHER NOTABLE FEATURES:

  • Strange and moody art style inspired by distant dreams and distorted memories.

  • Alternative game modes to play in new ways beyond just the DWELLTRIS mode.

  • Gameplay modifiers for bending the rules to create new challenges.

  • Dark ambient SFX that punctuate the gameplay.

  • And more!

This game originally started as a fun personal challenge to make a Tetris-like game in a week before becoming something more. DWELLTRIS is the work of my own hands and brain, and is a tribute to my love of Tetris, Lumines, and other games involving funny falling blocks.
