Why Early Access?

“Getting this game as Early Access is important to me to gain feedback from the community to build a game that's not only accessible, but also to pinpoint areas that need to be improved on, whether relating to design, visuals, or audio. The progression of this game makes it so that it can be easily updated in small increments, therefore making it a great candidate for early access iteration.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Based on the current rate of development, this game should be out of Early Access in approximately 6-8 months after our initial Early Access release, depending on the feedback and ideas I get from players.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“When Early Access started for this game, it came with 21 games.

I am now aiming for 52 games for the Full Version. In addition, each game will have its own simple timed arcade mode, with several arcades at this point having their own full length arcade experiences. There will be 6 boss battles including a boss battle that reveals the player's purpose.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access build now includes 35 different retro games and 4 boss battles. It also has split screen competitive multiplayer support, an arcade mode with 15 arcades, and daily challenges.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“My plan is to increase the price once shortly before the full release happens.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I will be interacting with the community through the steam message boards and various game and social media sites. I will be listening to feedback, interacting with players, and applying useful feedback back to the game.”

Retro Endurance delivers a reimagining of NES classics with a main story mode involving a fun shuffler/randomizer gameplay in addition to an arcade mode that lets you to play some of the games individually. The 35 games in this collection are built to be unique with no two games playing alike.

Features:

Rapid-Fire Mini-Games: Lightning-fast mini-games, with a unique and fun shuffler/randomizer style story mode, keeping players on their toes and their reflexes razor-sharp.

Diverse Game Genres: Features a variety of game genres, ensuring there’s something for everyone.

Arcade Mode: Unlock and play some of your favorite games individually with some games built as full experiences.
Multiplayer Fun: Compete in split-screen local competitive multiplayer mode

Daily Challenges: Perform and climb the high-score leaderboard with a new challenge each day.
Speed Run Mode: Play against the time as you accumulate score as fast as you possibly can. Unlocks at level 15.
Insane Mode: This mode is insane! In a single game session, you are likely to play almost every single game in this collection. Unlocks at level 30.
Special Gameplay Events; As you beat bosses, you unlock special gameplay events which occasionally appears and changes how you play the game.
Unique boss battles: Battle the boss while switching between different game genres until you completely deplete its hit points.

The Shuffler/Randomizer Mode:

The Shuffler/Randomizer Mode is what makes this game fun and unique. It plays with a board game like progression. It picks a few randomly chosen games. Each game plays for 3 rounds with the 3rd round playing at a faster speed. The main goal of Shuffler Mode is to get as high of a cumulative score as possible between the chosen games. The games are all designed to work well within this mode by keeping the controls and game mechanics simple, yet still be engaging and fun.

Retro Endurance 8bit features many games based on favorite classic 8bit games. Games based on popular genres such as platformers, puzzles, brawler, racing, RPG, and much much more! No two games play alike and they are all designed to be fun.

Solo developed game. Designed, coded, drawn, and composed by zsKnight.
Random generation algorithms in nearly all games so they will feel different each time you play them.
More games will be added and included free in future updates.
