Why Early Access?

“We want to create a tailor-made product for fans of the genre, so it’s essential to involve the gaming community in the production process as early as possible. They are our ultimate judges and second designers of the game. Early Access allows us to validate the gameplay mechanics we've implemented while taking advantage of Early Access’s flexibility to make necessary adjustments based on player feedback. We aim to quickly identify pain points and address them to deliver the highest quality product. If we see that certain elements resonate particularly well with players, we’ll adjust the scope to add more content based on that feedback.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Based on our initial plans, the game will remain in Early Access for a full year. If a delay in the release becomes necessary, we’ve determined that it will not exceed one additional quarter.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Here’s our general plan for features and content in each version.
The Early Access version will be a vertical slice of the full game. All primary mechanics will be available from the start, with the content being the key difference between the Early Access and the full release.

The full version will include:
- 3 character classes, each with unique cards and skills,
- 3 acts filled with unique enemies and events,
- Over 100 combos to discover,
- Over 100 quotes,
- A town with 7 functional buildings,
- Adjustable difficulty levels,
- Illustrated story snapshots.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Perfectly playable from start to finish.
- 1 fully playable character class,
- 2 acts with 70% of the intended enemies and events,
- About 60 card combos,
- Around 50 quotes,
- A town with 5 unique buildings,
- [Possibly] adjustable difficulty levels,
- Background glimpses of the story.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. We believe that in exchange for the trust and support shown to us through active participation in Inkborn’s development, our players should receive the game at a discount.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The primary way for the community to participate in development is simply by playing our game. We have prepared a set of analytical tools to gather extensive data on the most common player choices and their outcomes based on these decisions.
Additionally, we’ll monitor the Steam forums, paying attention to player feedback, suggestions, praise, and critique.
Lastly, our Discord community will play a significant role, encouraging players to discuss individual game elements. Our designers will participate in these discussions and use the feedback to refine existing features and guide the development of new ones.”

Inkborn is a roguelike deckbuilder where chaining cards into powerful combos is key to defeating your enemies. Explore a non-linear origami world where every run offers new ways to face otherworldly creatures.
