Why Early Access?

“Red Tears is an ambitious singleplayer game made by a solo developer. Allowing myself to gain player feedback on every aspect of the game, whether it be technical issues, mechanics, ideas etc will be very helpful in creating a quality experience.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Atleast 1 year. I plan to release patches and updates to the game as much as I can (Roughly every week or few months). Mostly for gameplay and some map design testing as I want to save the full campaign experience for the full release.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version is planned to have a full roughly 2 hour long semi-open world campaign, with polished gameplay and exploration. I plan to add options for replayablity such as new game + and other gameplay modifiers.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Mostly a demo/vertical slice of the game, with base stealth and action FPS mechanics. Slightly jank Enemy AI which can detect corpses or be distracted, a small early game map section with a limited pool of outposts and random encounters. Unfinished roster of weapons and gadgets for the player to use.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The full version will have a fixed price point. I will be releasing a free early access demo for players to play and give feedback, haven't yet decided on a paid early access build. However players can optionally donate to help support development.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“While I have a pretty strong vision in mind for the game, I have a discord server where I post frequent updates on this game and other projects, which has channels for discussion. I will be active in the discord, browse the Steam community hub and Youtube as much as possible to gain feedback and interact with players, and potentially make changes to the game accordingly.”

About This Game

Red Tears is a fast-paced and immersive stealth-action first person shooter. Take advantage of your tools and environment to surprise and survive against outnumbering odds.

Welcome to Angola in the late 70s. As a lone UNITA fighter stranded within MPLA territory, your objective is to travel South-East to a friendly FOB for extraction. That means surviving on-foot in hostile territory. Avoid patrols and attack outposts for intel, resources and combat experience to live to see another day.
