As the Great Darkness descends upon the province of Quebec, young Thérèse’s world collapses. Following her mother’s death, she is sent to the Saint-Nicolas-de-la-Passion Orphanage, a place governed by brutality, silence, and unquestioned faith.

Each night, Thérèse slips into another realm. At first, it feels serene, almost beautiful, but beneath its dreamlike calm lurk unspeakable horrors. This world of dreams may hold the key to the disturbing events unfolding behind the orphanage’s walls...
