Game Overview

1938 "is a film with the theme of the War of Resistance Against Japan, and the main storyline revolves around the 129th Division of the Eighth Route Army advancing into the southern Hebei region to establish an anti Japanese base behind enemy lines. It tells the story of how a group of members of the Eighth Route Army work team, represented by Yu Mengnian, initially established anti Japanese democratic base areas from March 1, 1938 to March 1, 1939, under heavy encirclement by Japanese and puppet enemies. They engaged in armed struggle against fascist aggressors while organizing production to create material conditions for the military and civilians.

1938 combines various game elements such as turn based chess, RPG, and simulation management to showcase the historical realities faced by the Eighth Route Army during the Anti Japanese War from multiple perspectives. At the same time, with a huge plot volume and multiple perspectives and dimensions, it showcases the process of the Eighth Route Army's military and civilians struggling to survive while gradually making victory in the War of Resistance possible in a historical context of a century of weakness and rampant Japanese aggression.

Game Design

1. Turn based Chess Battle System

Adopting a diverse skill system, spatial configuration, tactical planning, and numerical adjustment to provide an organic combat experience, the specially planned skill forms based on historical elements and character personalities are a major highlight. At the same time, both sides, regardless of the enemy, have conducted detailed historical research and content planning for character illustrations.

2. Simulated business system

By operating various institutions and facilities in the "Xiaokangshan Anti Japanese Base Area" located in southern Hebei, we aim to restore how the anti Japanese military and civilians fought against the brutal Japanese invaders in the form of "fighting in the front, producing in the rear" under difficult conditions during the Anti Japanese War.

3. RPG system

Contains role-playing elements such as the growth, upgrading, skill point allocation, and equipment collection of combat characters.

4. A massive storyline that conforms to historical facts

This is the original intention of this project, to present to everyone a specific and multifaceted question that has not been answered by anti Japanese dramas for many years: why are the broad masses of the people willing to defend the Party's established base at any cost, support, protect, and even become soldiers of the people under the bayonets of fascist aggressors?

For this purpose, we extensively reviewed the party history, revolutionary history, and revolutionary memoirs published under the leadership of local governments, and combined them with monographs, journals, and master's and doctoral theses to reconstruct the specific process of the martyrs solving problems. The total plot size is over 200000 words.
