Insect Dude! Underground Roots is a 2D-3D hybrid story-driven top-down shooter where the protagonist is trapped underground at the size of a bug and has to battle other insects while trying to find a way to return to normal.

Green Industries is one of the most technologically advanced companies in the world. Its founder, Nathaniel Green, has been missing for the past two years, and no one knows what has happened to him.

Despite this, the company has continued to thrive. One of the local labs is owned by Arthur Drake, a brilliant scientist specializing in atomic distances and nanotechnology.

He commissioned a special suit from a colleague to implement his theory, but during testing, something went wrong. As a result, he has shrunk down to the size of an insect and must now rely on the roots of a tree to travel and find a way out.

In Insect Dude! Underground Roots, the gameplay focuses on exploring underground environments, eliminating enemies, and navigating through unique challenges in a 2D-3D hybrid setting. Players control the protagonist from a top-down perspective, navigating through an alien-like world with hostile insects and environmental hazards. Combat emphasizes quick reflexes and strategic use of each weapon and ability at the player's disposal, allowing players to shoot, dodge, and adapt to the fast-paced threats of each area.
