Miksi Early Access?

Early access is an excellent opportunity to give players a more active role during the development process. I love considering and implementing ideas from players, and early access provides the perfect opportunity for this. My ultimate goal for early access is that the evolution of Feudal Glory will be more player driven than it would otherwise be without community involvement.

My best guess is 3-5 years.

Expanded features to provide more ways to play. Some examples would be a crafting system, skill/progression system with in depth character builds, enhanced political gameplay, world building/lore, cavalry during real-time battles, and potentially sieges (although this is a stretch goal).

Mikä on Early Access -version tila tällä hetkellä?

The first early access version will have all core economic gameplay elements discussed in the description. Those economic gameplay elements include: a simulated economy, trade, land ownership, and raising armies. However, I do not expect the initial versions to have advanced political gameplay, crafting, or a deep character progression system. Additionally, combat will be fully implemented for melee and ranged infantry with both 3rd person and strategic modes available. Melee and ranged cavalry will likely not be included in initial early access release, but will be added later on.

Muuttuuko pelin hinta Early Access -vaiheen jälkeen?

Possibly, but I am leaning towards having the same price for early access and full release.

The idea of involving the community in development is a win-win for both the developer and players. The primary communication channels will be Steam forums and Discord. All suggestions, bug reports, and player feedback are welcome and appreciated in order for Feudal Glory to reach its maximum potential.

Feudal Glory is the resultant passion project of an irrelevant, chronically jaded, irrationally perfectionist solo developer being continuously disappointed by modern strategy games. Why not build another game for people (including myself) to play and complain about for hours on end?

Main Goal

Feudal Glory is a sandbox RPG in a medieval setting with large scale real-time battles. The campaign mode will focus on giving the player a challenging, but also rewarding, strategy driven experience with a wide variety of viable roles to play. Furthermore, if your desired play style is martial might, battles can be settled on the open field with the player acting as both a leader and a battlefield participant.

Campaign Map (WIP)

The campaign map will be centered around the in game economic simulation systems. Settlements will produces resources with the type and amount of resources produced being dependent on the land and manpower available with trade being required to move goods between settlements. The choice of whether to engage in trade as a docile economic actor, aggressively plunder the trade of others, craft valuable items, or purchase/manage land will be yours to make.

Additionally, raising and leading a warband will be very valuable to attaining wealth and influence. How you utilize your martial might will greatly change the world around you, including how others perceive you.

Real Time Battles

As both a battle participant and leader, two modes of play have been implemented. The first is a typical 3rd person view for the player to engage in combat with any unit on the battlefield. The second mode is an overhead strategic view for providing orders to the player's troops. Switching between these modes is seamless and intended to be done on the fly in battles.

Formation control orders currently includes positioning, movement behavior, formation shape, projectile firing behavior, and targeting. More advanced control will be added alongside future additions to weapon classes (i.e. shields, spears, etc).

Unit classes currently include both melee and ranged infantry, with melee and ranged cavalry to be added later.
