What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“While the game is fully playable (at least the singleplayer is) and most people find it fun I think it could use more content (more levels, more gamemodes, more everything) and general polishing.

User feedback could also help improving various aspects of the game (ex : feedback on map design could improve some maps, feedback on movement speed could improve the general experience etc etc)”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Well hopefully not too long! The Singleplayer is pretty much done system-wise. It could certainly use more levels, gamemodes and others stuff. As for the multiplayer it's not really the 'priority' but it's for sure the thing that needs the most work on.

Depending on users feedback I hope in a year or so it will be out of early access and ready to be played by everyone.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Much more levels, more gamemodes (specially in multiplayer), general polishing, better graphics maybe? and more everything as a whole.

I can't promise any features because well.. If I don't deliver them at the end somebody is gonna be angry somewhere but! In general I think more content is the plan.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Playable (in multiplayer and singleplayer), 16+ levels, online leaderboards, people say it's fun so I guess it's quite okay!

The multiplayer is probably the least 'working' part of the game right now. It's playable but the current gamemode is kinda bad.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“There's currently no plan to change the price be it during or after Early Access. Though maybe with improvements the game will be worth more!

To me SinaRun is the kind of game you either play 20 mins per day or play it 6 hours trying to beat your time. So the current price is awesome for both type of plays! But we'll see!”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Listening to users feedback as much as possible and integrating proposed ideas in the game when possible (some maps in the game were actually designed with the help of the community)

Being a 'content-based' game listening to the community is one of the most important point for me!”

December 29, 2018

Today is the 30th of December 2018.

Today is the 30th of December 2018. It has been 880 days since the last SinaRun update. 2 years, 4 months and 28 days. 685 days since the last news here about what I've been working on. 1 year, 10 months and 17 days. I've not been completely silent since then (see Twitter and Discord) but:

Needless to say, that's a long time. Many of you probably moved on/forgot, some of you are probably disappointed or perhaps even angry (at me or the situation). The game must have been called "abandoned trash" or other names many times at that point.

And I guess, that's probably fair... Though to be honest I don't expect much of you to be in the latter categories, after all SinaRun is just a game, a random indie one at that. (I don't even know if many people will be reading this post)

However... It means a lot to me. Not necessarily because I LOVE the game that much (don't get me wrong though, I wouldn't have made this game if I didn't love and believe in it) but because it's my first real game, my first real project, the first real thing I poured a lot of time in. I've learned a lot about making games but also about myself while making this game.

Even when it will be finished (because it will) it probably won't be a big game a lot of people remember like the big indie titles, but still that's probably okay to me because I'll forever remember it and it will forever be one of my favorite game because again, it means so much to me.

I... don't want it to be in an unfinished state for the rest of my life. Everyone involved in this deserves better, you, me and hell, even the game does in some ways.

The last two years have been pretty rough for me. Definitely not as rough as some of the people out there but still a lot of struggle with being depress, not having any motivation to work on the game for various reasons, who am I as a person etc. You know, the usual stuff. Stuff happens, I guess.

Things have been going better these days, actually the last month or so was probably more productive than the last two years. I wish I could write my signature "haha" at the end of this sentence, but I think at this point, it wouldn't be too respectful.

I want to finish this game and I want to make new ones too! I want to show you people that I'm not just "running away with the money" or "giving up".

And finally: I hope there is still some people out there who just want to do the same levels hundreds of times in a row (only to get a slightly better time) because I'm making and finishing this game for you.

Thank you.

About This Game

SinaRun is a minimalist 3D platform/racing game.

The goal? Simply make the best time! What makes you different from the other players is not the cheap abilities you can get on the playground. It's how good you will be at optimizing jumps, turns and general route-finding.

The game is designed to not lead the players toward any levels. While all levels are (currently) pretty similar all levels feature slight changes in gameplay. Do you like small and quick jumps? Maybe you prefer bigger levels with turns and falls? What about sliding?

Find a level you like, play it hundreds of times and eventually maybe be the best on the leaderboard!

Current Features :

  • 16+ Levels with multiple paths. Finding a good route is the first step toward a good time!
  • Leaderboards (Beat your friends or compete in the global leaderboard)

  • Music by the awesome General Fuzz (Early Access Trailer Music by Keffy Kay)
