Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We anticipate that Starlight Re:Volver will be in Early Access for 1-2 years. However, in order to hit our bar for quality, this timeline may extend beyond our original estimate. During Early Access, we plan to regularly update a public roadmap so you can follow along on our journey to the 1.0 release.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version of Starlight Re:Volver offers a representative slice of the final player experience, from combat in the worlds of So Mi to character upgrades and social activities in NIM. Throughout early access, we plan to greatly expand the breadth and depth of our content, especially in NIM. This may include introducing new playable characters to master, So Mi threads to explore, and bosses to challenge. We expect to expand the size of Nishi Island Metropolis and add additional activities and systems to tie the experience together. Of course, game balance, optimization, and bugfixes will be a continuous effort through early access as well.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Upon Early Access release, Starlight Re:Volver will feature 4 playable characters, each with their own unique kits, backstories, and voice lines. Players can explore 3 distinct So Mi threads, each with its own visual themes, enemies, and bosses. The combat system will be representative and support 4-player party play. During each dive, you'll be able to pick a combination of powerful charms that enhance your abilities and craft new weapons that can change your character's playstyle.

In addition, Early Access will introduce our first neighborhood in Nishi Island Metropolis! This area is expected to support dozens of concurrent users and offer various spots to hang out with friends, such as Kuma Cafe and Tsukino Park. In the city, we plan to offer the ability to fish, stargaze, and enjoy a variety of minigames.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“As we continue to develop and expand Starlight Re:Volver during Early Access, our game's content and value may grow significantly. To reflect these additions, we may consider raising the price at the time of the full launch. We’ll make sure to give our community a heads-up well in advance of any price changes.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We believe in getting user feedback early and often. Throughout Early Access, we plan to provide multiple avenues for our community’s voice to be heard, including:

- An in-game button for quick feedback and bug reports
- A Discord server for game discussions
- Survey touchpoints for more detailed feedback
- Frequent TikTok and Twitter updates to keep you in the loop on our progress

Letter from the Devs: About Pahdo Labs

Starlight Re:Volver is a split world fantasy co-op rogue-lite (or rogue-like) action RPG dungeon crawler, where our heroes (the Diver) enter the dreamlike world of So Mi. Bring a pal, because it takes a party of two to four divers to face the obscure monsters you will encounter. Our Divers want to reach the top of the Diver league, write their legend, and leave a legacy.

Our creative guide line is “If we follow trends, we’ll be late to the punch. Instead, we’ll inform ourselves with patterns and themes from history, then create something from the heart.“ We hope that our characters are memorable and relevant: iconic characters that are deserving of cosplay and fanart, and used as benchmarks for future fiction.

We are a small New York based indie team of 33 game developers and anime fans, with DNA from Capcom, Bandai Namco, and Gaia Online. We were inspired by works like Sailor Moon, the roguelike Hades, Terraria, Runescape, and Maplestory, and aspire to rebirth the anime MMORPG in a modern way. Our product does not make any use of AI artwork or voiceover.
